I don't have a issue with Phil seeing if he can fleece a team for Porzingis. It's how the idiot talks about it to the media. He gains nothing in how he has answered the questions to make it look like he's willing to trade him when it's obvious he wasn't interested.

Agreed, Phil does that to himself. He intentionally says things in a weird manner like he's smarter... "The Zen Man." If he didn't want speculation, use the GM card "we aren't a good team, so technically everyone is expendable at the right price."

Ainge always says everyone is expendable for the right price, but you don't see articles like "IT on the trade market."

Josh will have an immediate impact when he starts this year as opposed to Brown. Josh is ready made to play in the NBA.

As you know, the NBA draft is about players that can come in and help the team, not always the developmental guy, there are a bunch of those guys still waiting to develope.

Hayward would be huge if they could get him.

Draft a pg to run the triangle then fire the guy that wants to run the triangle.

Knicks are so freaking stupid, could've had Dennis Smith Jr. one of the better PG prospects in the draft.

So... He agreed to make the team he was joining worse basically? Please explain why he would opt in instead of opting out like he said he would and just sign there instead.

Clippers get something in return pretty much instead of nothing. Rarely does it happen but it did here.

because the Rockets couldn't afford to sign Paul unless they got rid of players anyways, so it was never an option to not get rid of players to make room for him. it was simply a matter of whether they traded for Paul directly, and enabled him to sign a $200 million deal, or traded the players to another team to make room for him, but in which he couldn't sign a 5 year, $200 million deal.

I suppose. I've never been a fan of trading away a player that is going to leave when you aren't getting back comparable talent. If you're the Clippers, you can't sign players with the salary space that losing Paul opens, rather than just taking players back that you can get?

I'd send the message to Paul that you want to leave then we aren't going to help you get max money from the Rockets.

Rockets made out very well considering Paul was leaving anyway.

3 guys plus a first rounder

Looked like they were receiving a whole team:

    Dekker
    Beverley
    L. Williams
    Liggins
    Darrun Hilliard
    Montrezl Harrell
    Kyle Wiltjer
    2018 1st

I would say 4 of those guys stay and play minutes (Dekker, Beverley, L Williams and Harrell).
