This is not about liking Rex. This is about facts. Like him or not, Rex had top 5 defenses (one year the #1 defense) with less talent. A precedent has been set.

They only gave up a 7th round pick to move up one spot. So they wanted him at this spot. He is supposed to have a great arm. And most thought he would be the 3rd Qb chosen. I have no problem with it. Goodbye Matt Simms unless they do the unexpected and trade Geno.

His defenses gave up big plays. They had more talent than production. Rex got his stats which he talked about over Ws. But in fairness not all of the Ds fault in previous years because the O kept them on the field with their glaring lack of production.

well it's a 'now' league, and we finally have 'now' talent to compete.

i expect a better product out on the field this year regardless of coach.
the achilles heel remains QB, and possibly Oline tho.. we'll be relying on this defensive talent to keep games close..

and please stop blaming/crediting coaches for FA moves and/or draft picks. It's the GM's job, and replacing the GM with Mac was possibly the best offseason move we've made.

Doesn't matter we have a benchmark to judge Bowles. BTW Bowles AZ D gave up a TON of big plays last season too. They were much better in the producing TOs and keeping teams out of the end zone

I'll definitely be rooting for him, and I hope he can be the answer to our problems in a year or two .

I'm not a fan of his, but I understand the pick.

Coaches have input in selecting players but yes, ultimately the GM pulls the trigger with final say.

While we may not agree on other things i'm in 100% agreement with you with the addition of Maccagnan being one of our best off season moves.
Of course, the jury is still out on him but I like what I see and hear so far.

Holy crap how compulsively paranoid are we.

    Pathetic.
