Hiring Garth Snow to be the GM was undoubtedly the stupidest thing Wang ever did, and that's saying something for someone who gave long-term contracts to Yashin and DiPietro. It's beyond belief that Ledecky and Malkin didn't can him the day they took over as majority owners.

Mayfield is a bum, how is this guy still on the roster? He just gave up the puck with a blind pass up the middle of the ice to the canadiens.

That's the kind of game you need to win if you want to make the playoffs.

This team can make the playoffs but once again what good is making the playoffs only to get bounced in rd # 1 ? Its too bad , if we had a competent hockey guy / GM we could make a move or 3 and this team could actually contend. The goaltending shows signs at times of coming around but OHHHHHHHHH this defense is just pathetic ! A shame too because we have 2 lines that can score a lot of goals,,,I don't THINK but I actually KNOW that it will just be more of the same so long as SNOW is here.,the life of an islander fan

I agree. I won't get excited if they make the playoffs. If they get in they mostly likely will be WC 2 and have to face Tampa. That series would go 5 at most and a Lighting sweep isn't out of the question. Big picture if they can't resign JT this summer and they go with another "rebuild" to build the team around Barzal then they better have a real GM doing it. Another "rebuild" with this clown posing as a NHL GM would probably be my breaking point. If the team doesn't give a shit about winning then why should I care about them.

There’s no way Snow can keep his job if he lets Tavares get away.

JetBlue---IF JT leaves its not just on Snow but the owners as well. I don't see them firing him when they have a part in this---unless they make Snow the scapegoat after the fan backlash when JT leaves .

I don't see how they could sell another "rebuild" with Garth leading it. 13 years on the job and only one playoff series win. To be fair Garth didn't have a chance when Wang kept the payroll at the floor as nobody could build a competitive team in that situation. But the last 5 years Garth has had a decent payroll to work with and Ledecky and Malkin have allowed him to spend to the Cap. His time here is done IMHO. If JT leaves and they keep Garth then good luck filling the new building in Belmont.

Exactly----but I am almost there not yet but getting there, kinda like I am with the Jets where you have to show me and cannot sell me ! They would have to get rid of Garth yesterday not next summer as I don't believe in their plan NOW, this team is going nowhere with this defense and questionable goaltending !

At least there won't be a problem with playing 60 games in the next 3 seasons at the Coliseum - 13,900 seats is way more than they're going to need for fans to watch this crappy team. Looking forward to getting good seats to watch them 5 minutes from my house, just like in the old days.
