Funny enough, if I am getting a sandwich on a long roll (1 foot), I call it a sub, but if I am getting a sandwich on an extremely long roll (3 foot, 6 foot) I call it a hero. Either one works.

Growing up in rural PA it was hoagies/pop. Lived down south and some called it a Po boy. I guess it's a regional thing.

It's a sub, and it's a soda. I've had to deal with people from Pittsburgh calling them hoagies and pop all weekend, and I'm sick of it.
