Default Everything Senior Bowl.

(WW, is you want to merge this with the other Senior Bowl thread to consolidate everything to one thread that would be good)

For those of you who watch the practice, please feel free to add here along with anything relating to it.

I would just like to say that Eric Fisher is going to be a stud. I would not be surprised to see him get picked as high as the Cardinals at 7. He could start day 1 at either side and be great. If the staff felt Howard would be better off at guard, Fisher would be a great addition to lock down that right side.

Kyle Long looks a lot better at guard and has very high upside. Would be a nice 3rd round pick.

Two of my favorite WR's are here in Marcus Wheaton and Quinton Patton. Keep an eye out for them... Wheaton is in my mind is very similar to Mike Wallace but more polished route runner and Patton has so much Reggie Wayne to him.

Should be interesting to see the QB battle here also. At the RB position, theres some very good mid round talent- Ellington, Taylon, Barner, Franklin and even Rouse.

Desmond Trufant stuck out at CB. Datone Jones showed very nice burst and hand movement and would look great at 4-3 end.

With Lewan and Mattherws back in school fisher made a lot of money. He is going to be the second OT take and if Joeckel goes at #1 to KC he could go as high as #4 to Philly.

Per The Palm Beach Post, the #Jets met with Tyrann Mathieu a.k.a the 'Honey Badger' at the Senior Bowl practice in Mobile, Alabama today.

Per Walter Football:

If there is an injury or two, Texas A&M running back Christine Michael will be asked to join the Senior Bowl. Michael had a great week in St. Petersburg for the East-West Shrine. WalterFootball.com has been told by sources that the Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints and New York Jets love Michael. Some believe that he might sneak into the third round. His Combine performance, interviews and physical are going to be critical for Michael to maintain his positive momentum up draft boards.

I read something that said that Mathieu approached Revis and former LSU CB, Patrick Peterson for advice... He would be a great mid-late round selection.

I don't have a link, but you can check...NFL DRAFTCOUNTDOWN.....Teams meeting with players: The Jets talked with Stepfan Taylor today.

Russell Lande ‏@RUSSLANDE
At Senior Bowl practice today I heard a large contingent of #Jets personnel speaking very highly of Stanford RB S. Taylor (1 of 2) - They(2 of 2) seemed extremely interested in S. Taylor as the RB who could be the replacement for free agent to be RB Shonn Greene.

I dont think he gets out of the third. Too many secondary hungry teams in this league.

I'd love to take a chance on him but honestly, itd be a mistake drafting him until we reach the 4th.

Taylor isn't going to excel between the Tackles, he needs to get in space outside. I like his potential to be a receiver in the WCO. Excellent blocker and is very strong for his size, a lot compare him to Doug Martin.

came here to say that. He's Doug Martin-lite but could be just as effective for us in our new scheme

I pray the Colts dont jump on him as a weapon for Luck however

Eric Fisher looked real good today, he's going to be a top 10 player.

Curious as to why you think he will not excel between the tackles? He is coming out of a power running program, is known as a thickly built back that enjoys contact, and is the exact same size as frank gore.

I'm guessing because he's not super fast so he wont make guys miss, especially in the NFL but if you run him off the tackle and pull the guard to open up space and lanes he's the type of runner that will hit that hole and get 4-5 yards a carry consistently. His best runs I've seen on film are between the T/G and on the outside, while he can run up the middle it should only be in short situations

As far as his ability as a pass catcher is more than good enough for the WCO

Im not sure I like the Doug Martin comparison much... Or ever Frank Gore. Taylor isn't as explosive of an athlete (burst/acceleration, agility, speed) as Martin is and not as powerful between the tackles as Gore. I think Taylor is a good prospect, but I just dont see a great one. I mean if we are talking 3rd round and we havent addressed the position already, I would like him. I would prefer Lacy or Bernard in the 2nd and Jamison in the 2nd/3rd range though...

Taylor does show nice vision and the ability to make people miss in space and I like what he brings in the passing game.

I heard a comparison to Pierre Thomas a little while ago and I think thats pretty damn good. Both have similar build (although Taylor measured in a little shorter), both are good players in the passing game and both have similar running styles. I see his upside being that of Pierre Thomas (when the Saints actually used him) rather than Doug Martin who rushed for 1450 yards.

Thats just my opinion.

Would you take him at 9? He looked really comfortable blocking guys one-on-one, just shutting everyone down I saw.

Not that you asked me... But if it were up to me, I would highly consider it. If Moore and Werner are gone and the coaching staff thinks Howard could move inside to guard (or would be better off on the bench), I would do it.

Something like Fisher, Lacy, Long would be pretty damn great imo.

I would love Tyrann Matheiu in the mid to late rounds for us. Yeah he's undersized, but with Cro and Revis on the outside, I love what Mathieu can do in the slot. He's more quick than fast and would matchup with some of those slot guys like Welker a lot better than some of the guys we have. He'd definitely be an upgrade over Kyle Wilson at nickelback.

Plus the guy just has a penchant for making plays. It seems that he's always getting his hands on the ball, returning a kickoff, forcing a fumble, etc.

There's nothing wrong with guys that like a little marijuana. I'll gladly take a guy that probably has 2nd round talent in the mid to late rounds because of some positive marijuana tests.

Like the fact that Harvin was removed from some teams' draft boards years ago because he tested positive for weed is an absolute joke.

If we can snag Tyrann Mathieu in the second or 3rd round I think he will be a steal of the draft and would make an immediate impact. Though he may not be fast Honey Badger has those ball hawking qualities that you just cant coach he is very instinctual
