Gross negligence on Shanahan's part. I don't care what RGIII told him ... you don't fuck with knee injuries with your franchise QB.

His legs are a HUGH part of his game. This is going to be a big problem.

Sad part is that his first year may have been the most exciting year to watch him. Makes you wonder if he'll be able to run the same way again.

They said the same thing about AP last December. Unless its catastrophic damage to the bones in the area he should be back to form if he puts the work in during rehab.

RG3 already had surgery this morning, but it's a lot worse than anybody feared:
RG3's dad says Redskins quarterback needs ACL replacement "When Robert Griffin III underwent surgery early Wednesday to repair his torn right lateral collateral ligament, it was determined that his right anterior cruciate ligament was also damaged and needed reconstructive surgery for a second time since 2009, Griffin's father told USA TODAY Sports." Brutal stuff. I hope he is able to come back and play his same brand of QB, but if these reports are accurate it might not happen until the 2014-2015 season.

I have no sympathy, his ignorance has cost him greatly.
He has no future in the NFL, hes just another Vick. Will never play a full season. |

how was the decision to play ignorance? it was stupid, not ignorant. RGIII is smart enough to know the risk he took, so it had nothing to do with how informed he was of the risk. the correct use of the word ignorance or ignorant would be "your use of the word ignorance is ignorant of the meaning of ignorance."

Very unfortunate, but also unfortunately not that surprising. We're still waiting to see the player with the combination of legitimate quarterbacking skills, outstanding athleticism, and the size to withstand the kinds of hits a QB gets in the NFL (especially a running QB). Maybe Newton? And of course, even size doesn't make your knees invulnerable.

Noteworthy: Apparently, RG3 played for the rest of the half in 2009 after tearing his ACL at Baylor.
As for the state of his knee, this injury is very disconcerting (especially considering the MCL sprain and this being his second ACL reconstruction). |

And yet Mark Sanchez has a clean bill of health. That is how you know there is no justice in this world.

This might be the dumbest post in the history of the forum. Being a terrible QB means you deserve painful injuries?? Dumb.

He's just like any other running QB, will burn out after a few seasons. THE IDEA OF QB IS YOU HAVE TO THROW THE BALL AND IF YOU CAN'T YOU WON'T LAST. These running QB'S make a huge splash and then fizzle out as D'S adjust to them. These running QB'S are a dime a dozen. There will be another Vick or RG III who will be the next big thing then fizzle out. When will we learn that QB'S that can throw the ball and are throw first will last. Hey Donovan Mcnabb figured it out.

That's what was so promising about RGIII. He seemed like an accurate passer who could run just because he was athletic and can run.
