We won't talk about undrafted players, but Joeckel is a solid pick with the lack of a quality QB at the top.

Oh no doubt, he's the best player at the second most important position. He should be a lock by now for the 1st pick.

Always have to consider THE MOST important position for the first overall pick. Recent history shows teams will reach for those.

Of course, but the severe lack of talent warrants a pass on that position.

I dont disagree about the talent, but the Need is what drives that pick.

Lets put it this way, is the talent from round 1 to round 2 THAT much of a drop off? I don't believe so, both need development time.

My comments on the 3 picks...

1) I don't know if KC gets a tackle with pick 1....I think they really need to spark up something and either trade down(Which I don't hold against TCGF here since you can't) or get themselves a QB, even if ____ _____ may not be 1st pick worthy. Iffy with the pick from a realistic standpoint but I like it myself.

2) Seems like an ideal pick but I was thinking this was more of a slum dunk with their ex GM Smith around. Now with Caldwell, I am starting to lose confidence in this pick but for now, got no gripe.

3) Oakland could have gone two ways....take Star or take someone else. They are a real flip of the coin here. I can't fault the Raiders for getting Star.

The Raiders get a stud DT. It may not look like a huge need on paper but both Tommy Kelly and Richard Seymour had down years and are not getting any younger. Star will be an immediate impact player in any front and allow them to make Kelly a cap space cut.

I really think with this board there were three players that could make sense for Oakland, star being by far the safest of those and he still has huge upside. It was really a no brainier. I thought about a out of left field pick for them but stuck to my board. Once that player is gone I'll let ya know.

I know who you mean and value wise it'd be a worth while pick but you went with their biggest need I feel.

I'll have my pick up in a bit, debating with myself on two different players.

Some may not like this pick but I just couldnt pass on Jones. I realize he has spine issues but with this pick I am banking on him being medically okay to play for the foreseeable future.

The kids a top 3 talent anyway you look at it, and with the Eagles most likely moving into a 3-4 defense or even hybrid defense, they could use a guy like Jones (whether at 43 LB or 34 OLB). The Eagles had issues pressuring the QB last season (same amount of sacks as us) so with this they could acquire their own Von Miller like talent.

The Eagles have needs in the secondary as well but those can be addressed later on (supposedly they arent cutting Nnamdi either, rather restructuring him).

Jones is a good pick. He was on my radar at three but Star is safer due to the spine issue. On talent alone he is a top player.

Not a fan of Jones to Philly. Like the player and I think Philly can use a player like this but if you go for an OLB, I don't know if Chip Kelly passes on his high rated OLB. Yeah that may not mean Oregon coach takes Oregon player as we saw with Taylor Mays and Carroll but if he's going for an OLB, I think he swings for his guy.

But really I think CB's too big of a need to bypass....Aso seems like a goner(Though I didn't know they are restructuring Aso) and unless Boykin can be relied upon as a no.2 next to DRC, I think they go with that CB.

I didn't factor in Jones health woes which could kick him down big time. He could have a similar fall like what Courtney Upshaw had possibly.

I've been studying this pick for awhile and from what I gather from many Eagles forums, they will be simply restructuring Nnamdi this offseason, so CB becomes (somewhat) less of a need. Thus, opening up the availability to draft the likes of Star or Jones.

I'm also hearing they may be bringing in Georgia's D Coordinator Todd Grantham, meaning Jones becomes even more likely to Philly (although its hard to say until they sign someone).

Trust me when I tell you, I was about to pick that CB but in the end Jones made just a bit more sense to me. Also, I dont think Kelly would reach for that player over Jones.

I wanted you to skip Star so badly man, but I went with the next best player.
