For now anyways, he's not been fired at this point but that may change depending on who the Jets bring in as the new GM. If the Jets bring in a highly reguarded GM he'll 100% have the option to bring in a new HC. There is no way a top end GM candidate will come in without having the option of choosing his own HC.

Is this confirmed? Link? I haven't seen any official statement from Woody or the Jets saying that Rex will remain coach. This report makes no sense as they don't even know who the new GM is yet.

It reminds me of when they hired Rex with the condition that he keep Schotty as OC. This will limit the candidate pool.

As much as I would like for Rex to stay, I don't like the possibility of Woody forcing him upon the next GM. The new guy should have free reign over the team.

Schefter has it on his twitter page as well. Tanny fired. Jets will retain RR.
