Every head football coach has a chart he keeps handy that tells him when to go for a two-point conversion. Some coaches carry other charts, too.

Chances are Jets’ head coach Rex Ryan has a chart that informs him on his quarterback decisions.

If ... Mark Sanchez plays horribly for 13 consecutive starts or less, each week further burying your team’s playoff hopes ...
Then ... start Mark Sanchez again.

If ... Mark Sanchez plays horribly for 14 consecutive starts ...
Then ... skip over second-string quarterback Tim Tebow and start third-string quarterback Greg McElroy.

If ... Greg McElroy plays horribly in his first start ...
Then ... start Greg McElroy again.

If ... Greg McElroy sustains a concussion and can’t play ...
Then ... go back to starting Mark Sanchez again, despite his abysmal track record.

If ... Tim Tebow talks to you about the wildcat ...
Then ... play wide receiver Jeremy Kerley at the wildcat quarterback.

If ... Tim Tebow throws an incomplete pass in practice ...
Then ... use that as a justification for never playing him in a game.

If ... Tim Tebow is clearly the best option at quarterback but if he comes in and plays well you will look like even dumber than you do already and will almost definitely lose your job ...
Then ... DO NOT PLAY TIM TEBOW.

If ... Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy and Jeremy Kerley are hurt ...
Then ... call Mark Brunell or Vinny Testaverde and ask them to start at quarterback.

If ... Tim Tebow somehow gets into a game despite your best efforts and drops back to pass and spots a wide open receiver in the end zone for what would be a game-winning score ...
Then ... run onto the field and sack him before he releases the ball.

If ... Tim Tebow shredded your team’s defense in the fourth quarter of a game last year, handing you a loss which kept you out of the playoffs ...
Then ... hate him forever and do anything you can to ruin his career.

I agree with you on this. But I think it's just pissing off Jets fans because the season was so disappointing. It's just rubbing salt in the wound.

Well, the only reason he gets that coverage is because of his army of sycophantic followers, right? Another Tebow fan then makes the astute observation that the coverage of Tebow by ESPN is killing the poor slob, but its not Tebow's fan's fault. Nobody pays attention to them. Certainly not ESPN.
