Default Rex Ryan is a GREAT coach

Screw the haters. This team sucks ball sack. They suck more dick than a porn star. Yet Rex Ryan has managed to take this team and make them finish at almost 0.500. Who does this team have that opposing teams are scared of? Revis (hurt) and Cromartie (this year). Name me someone else?

Yet Rex Ryan in spite of the media and opposing fans talking shit constantly will make this team finish with a respectable record. Get rid of Tanny and Sparano. Start focusing more of the offensive side of the ball and let Rex work his magic.

Firing him would be a terrible mistake.

Rex is one of the best coaches the Jets have ever had. I'm tired of all these self entitled pricks insulting him with childish insults as if he's done a terrible job when he's got the best win% of any jets coach next to Parcells. How many teams in the league would finish near .500 with a bottom 5 offense, losing their best player on offense and defense with the worst QB in the league? He's done wonders considering the talent on this team. Any one who doesn't realize this, is just a hater. If Rex gets fired I'm going to be really annoyed. People bitch about the offense, but how can you blame Rex, when we have coaches that are supposed to specifically teach and drill offense? Simple minded people blame Rex because he's the highest level up as far as coaches go, but seriously where's the QB coach and OL coach accountability? OC? Hello? It's not all up to Rex to design and run the offense. If we're replacing coaches this year, look no further than the OFFENSIVE coaching staff. It ain't Rex's fault.

So... screw those who hate Rex Ryan. But if you hate anything else about the team, that's ok.

Rex is a solid defensive mind who still needs to transition his mindset into a HC.

I think Rex is a very good coach, and learned a huge lesson this year about neglecting the offensive side of the ball, and even more so the passing game.

Kill Rex for a lot of things, but this statement was always 100% true. I'm not sure what people wanted to hear. Mark Sanchez is now ruined and he STILL would give us our best chance to win.

Almost 500?

They are 3 games under in a 16 game season. That's not almost 500.

Sanchez did give us our best chance to win. Didn't you see McElroy last game?

We beat the Bills next week and we're 7-9, which IS almost .500. There's also no reason to assume that we'd have just as bad a record with Revis & Holmes playing. We're a .500 / mediocre team right now, even if we finish slightly under. The injuries DO matter. Many teams would completely collapse if their best offensive and defensive players got hurt for the year.

Saying that the Jets shouldn't fire Ryan is in no way the same thing as saying that he is a great head coach. I really don't see much evidence supporting that the last two years.

Rex is one of the best coaches Jets have ever had. At the same time, his offensive failures & handsoff attitude during the Shotty days eliminate him from being considered one of the best coaches in the NFL today.

Rex coaching career is still young & I think he can grow/improve into a great coach but he's not there right now.

Rex is a great defensive coach. But he's severely lacking in his understanding the offensive side of football. He preaches an outdated style that does not take advantage of any of the opportunities presented in the present day nfl. His ideal offense is very inefficient (doesn't make the most of it's players and scores few points with lots of talent). It should be the other way around where the offense can score many points with limited talent. You need to be able to audible, run hot reads, run option routes, etc in abundance.

I just don't see the Jets beating the Bills at this point.

6-10

I would say Rex has been the one of the most successful Jets coaches ever. That speaks more about the Jets than Rex.

Hard to see your true potential when the GM puts garbage on the team and the owner trades for the useless clown...

Rex needs a competent GM and Woody should stay the hell away from player decisions (the clown).

Rex won with Mangini's players...Just needs someone to give him good players...

This team is worse than the 6 wins would suggest. You can't be an NFL head coach and know absolutely nothing about one side of the football.

Tanny was the GM when Mangini was there. Either Tanny has lost it or someone else was picking the players.

Wrong...you can't be a 'great' coach and know nothing about one side of the football. You can still be a good coach, a winning coach IF you get people on that side of the ball who do know about it and give them the autonomy to do the job.

Except in the Arizona game lol. I believed it at the time too...I'm not sure I do anymore. Not after FIFTY turnovers in the last two seasons. For all his ills, at least Tebow knows how 'not' to turn the ball over with the same lousy completion percentage Sanchez had this year.
