Jets best 1st round pick since Revis was Wilkerson. That wasn't a particularly high pick. Last really high pick the Jets had was Gholston, that worked out well.

I go into the season with one simple little hope -- give me something to root for in December. If they beat Arizona I have something to root for for another week.

The sad thing is your absolutely right. We will get the first pick and draft somebody that would have gone in the second rd like Sanchez should have. They need to spend some money on a football person to make the decisions now. This is what happens when you let your accountant handle the draft.

The Jets SHOULD go at least 3-2 down the stretch. 5-0 is a stretch, but it's still a possibility. Just keep making each game mean something, that's all I usually ask of a season. Keep me entertained as long as possible, keep giving me reasons to watch. The pipe dream of the playoffs is enough.
Pretty much my philosophy. I wasn't terribly torn up last year because we had something to play for in the last week of December (even though we needed like three other teams to lose and two of them did).

I think we're going to have the same amount to play for this week as well.

The Colts and Redskins played for RG3 and Andrew Luck and it turned out pretty good for them. Better than a playoff berth would have.

If the Jets had any history of trading down to stockpile picks I may be more on board with bombing the rest of the season if they lose another game. Unfortunately that's not something Tannenbaum has ever done. I highly doubt he would take a 6th overall pick and turn it into additional high picks. It's just not his way of thinking. He wants what he describes as quality over quantity. Unfortunately his methodology has turned into a lack of both.

You need quantity to build quality depth and we are going to need to add a lot of starters next year with little cap space to work with. Hopefully someone can figure out a way to stockpile some picks.

How can you possibly say that??? He improved his stats in almost every category from 2009 to 2010 and from 2010 to 2011. He's having a down year now, but to say his best season was his rookie campaign is pure ignorance and not even close to reality. He threw something like 12 TDs and 20 picks that year. at "absolutely" his best year.

It is not acceptable for him to make rookie mistakes in his fourth year.

In fact I am being generous. Even Sanchez did not have a play like his diving into Moore's rear end in his rookie year.
Dude, the point was that the Jets have a slight chance to make the playoffs again, just like 2009. It has nothing to do with whether Sanchez' mistakes are acceptable or not. We weren't even talking about Sanchez. I just don't see how anyone can say we're less likely this year than we were in 09 to make it. The odds are almost exactly the same.

The Lions took a shit all over our playoff "hopes" today. They should be exectued for finding a way to lose that game. The Colts are probably a 10 win team now, so they're in. It's all about the Bengals and Steelers losing from here on in.

Need bungals and stillers to lose the rest of the way. One of them will knock the other out as they play. But for now need the ravens to beat the steelers.

Yeah, need the Bengals and Steelers to drop to 9-7. Unfortunately, BAL is struggling taking care of Pitt right now

No, the Steelers and Bengals can go 9-7, and have a shot. We can't land in a tie with the Steelers alone, but we can get a tie with a 3rd team and the Steelers since H2H no longer applies

Batch is playing pretty well for the Steelers today. Even if Ben doesn't come back, if he gives them this kind of play at the QB position they'll be tough to beat with that defense. Bad news for us.

Charlie freakin' Batch. Unblelievable. He gives the Steelers better play than we ever get from our "franchise" QB. He has the Steelers in good position to win in Baltimore and a good shot at the playoffs. Meanwhile, we have no chance of our QB coming up big in big spots. All we can do is hope to ovecome the 2 or 3 obligatory turnovers we have to swallow from Shit-chez every single game.

We have a chance here if the Bengals and Steelers lose. The Steelers play the Bengals to so someones gunna drop to 7 losses and with the Bengals playing the Ravens week 17 there is a hope.

A lot has to happen, but it will definitely give me something to look forward to.
