Who gets the most blame for our weak season thus far? I seen threads on Mike T, Woody, Sanchez, Greene, the oline, linebackers. I'd like to see who TGG ultimately feels is the most responsible.

You guys might have responded as I made the poll. Please vote in it when you get a chance! I picked Tanny since he's responsible for cap space and getting talent, but it seems we have money in the wrong places and as a result have had to bring in important players that are UFAs or cut from other teams. Deteriorating offensive line and receiving core is on him, and not giving Sanchez the weapons to develop with for years to come, while making the WRs a revolving door. I think it's obvious the lionshare goes to him. We've seen Sanchez & Rex succeed in previous seasons, so I can't blame them.

Clearly it's Brian Schottenheimer and Herm Edwards' fault.

![]() If President Obama can get by on the argument that he inherited Bush's mess, then how does Sparano not get a pass for dealing with Schotty's mess?

Our offense is trash it as a whole gets the largest share of blame from me. All of them. OL for being inconsistent and unable to get any push vs PIT, SF, MIA, SEA. Sanchez and WRs for not being able to fucking audible/hot route effectively, or adjust the blocking scheme for the blitz. I'm not going to blame play-calling I think its been ok it's just flat out pathetic execution. We can't even execute a godam screen pass.
Special teams has also had huge game-changing errors. Last edited by Jake; 11-16-2012 at 04:48 PM. |

The overall talent or lack thereof, should be on the list.

Everyone but I picked Tanny since he deserves most of the blame for allowing this disaster to happen. 2011, the Jets finished 8-8 and Tanny did nothing to make the team better. Instead, he left them high and dry and look what happened now. If Woody doesn't want to be known as the next Dolan, he should do the right thing and fire Tanny and his cronies.

Most to blame is Tanny. Close seconds are Sanchez, O-line, and if rumors are true Woody

Tanny all the way. This roster has serious holes & unless Rex can step on the field himself, this team is just screwed. Below is a post I put in another thread but think it applies moreso to this thread.
OFFENSE RT - underachieving 2 years in a row, top salary LG - JAG who makes peanuts & should be OL backup for depth C - Elite RG - Over the Hill & should be retired RT - JAG who's saving grace is that he doesn't suck as much as WFH
------ TE#1 - Keller = average TE that sometimes good hands but disappears & shit blocking TE #2 - Garbage
------ WR #1 - Kerly = 2nd year player showing promise WR #2 - Raw rookie without much experience WR#3 - Garbage
QB - One of the highest salaries in NFL & below average player RB - Terrible. Greene can't block or catch, Powell/McKnight are injured & McKnight fumbles. Except for Mangold, Kerley, Hill (who's not productive right now) is there anybody that other teams would be interested in? If LT was on a rookie contract then he'd also be desirable. Talent here is pretty weak & Kerley is the only productive offensive player with a rookie contract. Hill is still a diamond in the rough. DEFENSE DL - Young studs & some vet experience.
----- LB core - This entire core is pretty weak. Slow, not good at tackling, can't set the edges. Bart is playing OK but he's definitely going downhil. Except for ROOKIE DeMario, nobody would take any of these LB.
----- Safety - Two very old players & bad injury history. Rex has them both pretty productive. Landry is solid run support but not so good in coverage. ----- CB#1 - Cro is one of the best in the league CB#2 - Kyle Wilson is OK but not top level CB CB#3 - Who??
There are MAJOR holes on this roster. We're not like the Chargers who constantly under achieve with talent all-over-the-place. The talent here is just really bad. ===== If I had to blame a player, it would be Sanchez. This is a salary cap league & he's under performing his contract immensely. Year 4 & he's looking dumber than a rookie some games. Last edited by ajax; 11-16-2012 at 05:34 PM. |

I picked Tanny due to putting a team on the field with little to no talent.
I'd have Rex second for coaching an almost always ill prepared, poorly disciplined team with locker room issues for the 2nd straight year, that never focuses on their players strengths.

That would fall under Tanny.

Tanny overpaid for players and the Jets' roster became:
Top= Legit players (but too few of them) Middle=Decent to below average players Bottom= Above average to decent players We've seen way too many un-cuttable players stay on the roster while too many borderline rosterable but still quality players have slipped away. Tanny's supposed to be a numbers guy yet the Jets are easily in one of the five worst cap situations over the next 2 years. Thank you, Tannenbust. |
