Default Injury report: WR Hill, TE Keller limited

It would be nice to get Keller AND Hill back this week. Hopefully Mangold is just a precaution.

Quote:
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Wide receiver Stephen Hill and tight end Dustin Keller were both limited in practice Wednesday as they try to make their returns to the field Sunday. Hill has missed the past two games while Keller has missed the past four, but their return could be a much-needed boost to a stagnant offense.

Center Nick Mangold also missed practice after injuring his ankle Monday. He tried to give it a go Wednesday but his ankle didn't cooperate. He said he's doing better, though.

On the defensive side, defensive tackles Sione Po'uha and Kenrick Ellis both missed practice. Head coach Rex Ryan said Ellis most likely won't go against the Colts, while Po'uha's status is up in the air. Potentially losing both of them would be a big blow to the middle of the Jets defense.

JETS

Out: Cornerback Darrelle Revis (knee)

Did not practice: Po'uha (low back); Ellis (knee); Mangold (ankle); Fullback John Conner (hamstring); Receiver Clyde Gates (shoulder); Safety LaRon Landry (heel)

Limited practice: Linebacker Bart Scott (toe); Linebacker Bryan Thomas (hamstring); Receiver Stephen Hill (hamstring); Tight end Dustin Keller (hamstring); Receiver Jeremy Kerley (finger/illness); Safety Eric Smith (knee); Linebacker David Harris (hamstring)

Full practice: Cornerback Aaron Berry (ribs); Cornerback Antonio Cromartie (shoulder); Linebacker Nick Bellore (shoulder); Quarterback Mark Sanchez (low back); Linebacker Calvin Pace (Achilles); Guard Brandon Moore (hip); Guard Matt Slauson (knee); Tackle Austin Howard (back); Tight end Jeff Cumberland (ribs)

COLTS

Did not participate: Linebacker Pat Angerer (foot); Running back Donald Brown (knee); Linebacker Dwight Freeney (knee); Cornerback Vontae Davis (ankle); Linebacker Robert Mathis (knee); Defensive end Fili Moala (knee); Guard Joe Reitz (knee); Nose tackle Martin Tevaseu (ankle);

Full practice: Running back Mewelde Moore (ankle); Center Samson Satele (knee)

Let's hope they are ready for Sunday and maybe just maybe we can get this offense off to a good start. I would be intrigued to see how Chaz and Hill line-up on the outside with Kerley in the slot though. 2 big WRs on the outside, that would make things much easier for Sanchez

If we have explode on the Colts like we did Buffalo, do you think the ice under Sanchez thickens?

I personally think that we will be a different team with those two back.

The only way to quiet the noise is to perform. And it will take more than one game. The Colts defense is softer than the ones we've been facing so hopefully they can start to show us something on offense this week.

An impressive debut this week will quiet the chaos down a bit. We definitely need Keller for this week.

I think Keller's return will be a huge boost. Opens up the short passing game, which will help offset the lack of a running game.

Keller is a pussy but do you guys remember the when he tried to backflip that defender last year and got injured? He's a stupid tough pussy. Sanchez is a dick tho, so you know what that means.

Please don't ever use the word tough to describe Keller again.

The one good thing about having so many receiver injuries is Kerley has really emerged as a legit WR target. He even reminds me of Holmes, without all the unnecessary douchebag celebrations.

this is what i am thinking too.

hill and schillen run deep patterns with keller going up the seam and kerley working the short to intermediate stuff could give us a chance at some big plays.and maybe help get the running game going.

dare to dream

no pass game without a run game, period

Greene has to get 4-5 yards a carry since he never comes out

Kerley will actually be more dangerous whenever we get Hill and Keller back. Too bad Keller is being such a pussy about this.

disagree. 1 sets up the other but it doesn't have to be run to pass.

you get a couple of big plays deep or catch a few nice chunks throwing behind the lb's and the d will back up opening up the run game.

At this point, the Jets may have to start doing the opposite and that's stretching the field. At this stage I think the only way the Jets make the playoffs is if we can successfully throw the football to open up the run more, if the weapons can command respect AND if Sanchez can make more plays down the field, the run game could open up more and will get more yards on the ground.

A lot of IFs though. At this point the Jets have nothing to lose, they are better off letting Sanchez sling the football because right now you can't play defense and you sure as hell can't run the football. The schedule gets a little easier from here on out. Let's hope the Keller, Hill, Kerley and Chaz stay healthy. This part sounds ugly, but you never know unless you try. If the Jets are 2-7 everyone will get what they want and see Tebow start and fail playing QB.

Keller stayed in the game after that. I swear some of you people are retarded. Keller is a pussy for having a pulled hamstring? In what fucking world does that make sense.

Keller is gonna miss the entire season with that hammy strain.

We sign him to an extension, he will rub his groin with that cash and you will see how fast he will get on the field.

Huh? Keller's a pussy for getting injured? Jets fans are some of the whiniest emotional clowns I've ever met. Holy crap. Last I checked the decision to play wasn't up to him.
