Default AFC East Divisional Race

Week 5

Texans(4-0) @ Jets(2-2)

Dolphins(1-3) @ Bengals(3-1)

Bills(2-2) @ 49ers(2-2)

Broncos(2-2) @ Patriots(2-2)

Week 6

Colts @ Jets

Rams @ Dolphins

Bills @ Cardinals

Patriots @ Seahawks

Week 7

Dolphins BYE Week

Titans @ Bills

Jets @ Patriots

As scary is this may sound, its not to far-fetched that the Jets enter Monday night in first place and will remain in first win, lose, or draw. Im banking on Bills beatdown in San Fran, I think the Bills will put up a better fight their but that place is ard to win. The only 2 teams ive seen win in their were the Cowboys and Giants and both those teams escaped. Hopefully Peyton can out score Bradys team. Should be an interesting Sunday before the Jets game Monday.

So you are assuming that your JETS can beat both Houston and the Patriots over the next 3 weeks? What ever you are smoking...please pass it to me man.

Puff puff pass is a universal rule...no matter what team you call yours.

Can you point out where I said we will beat both those teams? Say what you want but any given Sunday the Jets can win, its not impossible to win in Foxborough with out backs against the walls. I believe we will beat the Colts and play the Patriots for first. Patriots will be highly favored but the Jets have played better as the underdogs. Week 2 2009 and 2010 we were big underdogs and won with great play, the games where the Jets were at least 50/50 like the debacle last year or 45-3 we have lost. Even the game last year in Foxborough we were a stop away from having a chance to win it. We play much better as underdogs against the Patriots. Lets get through this week first though before talking about that game.

I think we'll be after 7 but still very much alive in the WC race. We should be Indy and we should be able to beat Miami at home which would make us 4-4 and in good shape assuming we lose to Hou and NE. In the past when this team has had controversy and appeared lost they have played some of their best games, do we have another one in us Mon Night? I think we'll play much better than the SF game.

As I stated in a post here in the pre-season. Tebow will be the starter by week 7.

NYJ has Houston, Indie, and NE over the next 3 weeks...even the Colts game is not a gimmie with Lucks arm and accuracy. The only way you even have a chance to do anything special is with Tebow.

I hear that Woody is already pushing for Tebow to start right now...I just do not understand why there are any supporters left for Sanchez when Tebow already showed he can make things happen by winning 7 of the last 11 games last year for Denver...

Well if you werent aware Sanchez lit up New England in a divisional round playoff game while Tebow took it up the ass in the same spot Sanchez was a year before. I get that you can blame the defense, but Tebow was grounded for 4 quarters and his only TD came off of a Brady pick that set them up in the redzone I believe. Belichick will wreck Tebow again, Sanchez has given Bill more trouble then Peyton Manning has and thats a fact. Sanchez is 3-4 while Peyton is 4-8 against the Patriots. Granted the defense has helped Sanchez but he still had to make passes.

Our teams has to show some sign of life before I'm going to start worrying about the other teams in the division

I think you're using the term "race" very loosely. Barring a Brady injury the Pats will have the division wrapped up by week 12-13.

Well considering they have the Texans and 49ers back to back weeks 14 and 15 that might be easier said than done. The last couple years after the Jets debacles (45-3) (37-16), the Patriots ran the table as many predicted. This year though the Patriots will have a MUCH harder time down the stretch which does give a lot of hope.

Id rather take this week by week though, as I see it now the Jets are in a race and are not out of it. All eyes on week 5 for me. Previous years I looked down the stretch way to much, im taking it week by week for 2012.

If they have the division locked up by week 12-13, why do weeks 14 & 15 matter? That was a rhetorical question.

This season is going to be brutal. The Jets in their current incarnation could be in the basement in three weeks. Easily. What a kick in the nuts.

I think the Jets and Bills will be 2-3 and esconced together in the AFCE sub-basement by Tuesday AM.

Maybe the Carp will join them, but Cinci's secondary is very suspect because of injuries, and Tannehill and Hartline make beautiful music together, so they might just get lucky this week.

I think the Pats abuse the Donkeys at home, Peyton or no Peyton.

I think there's a reasonable case to be made for 10-6 winning the division this year. The Pats might pull away and win 12 but they might also struggle to win 10.

I honestly agree with you that 10-6 will be good enough to win the division and secure a home playoff game. Insane and sad, but true.

I also agree with one of the posters above, if the Pats secure teh division by weeks 12-13, then what does it matter to anyone if weeks 14 and 15 are against great opponents?

No team locks up the division that early. Not even the 14-2 Pats from 2 years ago did. I believe they clinched it week 15. Week 13 is to early.

It's almost impossible to secure a division by week 13. That means that each team has played 12 games (with bye).

Team A needs to be 10-2 with all the other teams being 5-7 or worse. It's a highly unlikely scenario.

Of course, another team could be 6-6 but Team A would have to own a strangle hold on tiebreakers, which again is highly unlikely.

All I can take away from this thread is people are seriously over estimating the Patriots. They are still a force but much more beatable than in years past. Both their defense and offensive lines are considerably less formidable than in years past. They will likely lose at least 5 games this season.
