Default Tim Hightower anyone?

Just cut by the redskins...not saying hes a 3 down back but him and green would be a punishing combo as the both run the ball physically...idk i thought it could be a good pick up, thoughts? I know hes coming off a ACL and being cut isnt a good sign but it could be worth a look...

He's got good hands and runs with power... I think he'd be a good fit if he took a cheap contract.

I think he would be a great compliment and we definitely need one. Unless he hasn't fully recovered.

Hightower looked pretty good before he got hurt last year, I like the idea. Is he healthy?

Eh, coming off a torn ACL. Coaches seem to like him since he can block, he runs hard, and he can catch the ball. But he fumbles too much and really just isn't very explosive, and this was before he tore his ACL.

Is he really better than Powell or McKnight?

Powell looks like he'll be close to useless this season and McKnight is only really useful as a third down back. I don't think either are a great fit for the hard nose style of running the Jets want.

while im all for upgrading the RB position, the last thing we need is another average HB who cant stayhealthy for 200+ carries.

green + hightower isnt a power combo... its 2 average backs who underwhelm.

we need a lead back who can carry it 200 times and make an impact. not someone to get us 3 yards and a cloud of dust with 0 gamebreaking ability. for a ground and pound team, its sad we have no above average back and onyl 2 or 3 above average run blocking lineman

Yeah, but since nobody is going to cut or trade a lead back we have to get what we can get knowing we still need more than just Greene.

I would not say both run the ball physically as Greene was graded as one of the worst runners in the league in going down after contact. Greene may look like a big back but he plays a 180 lb back as he goes down way to easy.

That being said Hightower would have been great last year but he is coming off a major injury. Who knows when he will be ready to go. If he was ready now I doubt the Redskins would be cutting him.

I wouldn't hate bringing in another RB.

I do think "the guy who shall not be named" will see more snaps at RB than at QB this season. Beyond all the hysteria, he's a damned good ball player.

Powell has shown little bursts, but nothing that I saw in preseason justified the type of hype he got in camp, but he wouldn't be the first training camp hero we'd ever had.

McKnight... looks like a wide receiver playing runningback. He hits like a receiver and falls down like one, and he runs like one, too. When is it safe to say that this guy has been miscast as a runningback?
