Default Jets can win the division

The Patsies are in trouble. Their offensive line is in shambles. They gave up 32 sacks last year and will give up over 40 this year. Tommy boy may not make it through the whole year. Their defense is well below average. Some idiots on ESPN (Everything is Special in Patsies Nation) thinks they will go undefeated. It'll be great to see them wrong both about the Patsies and our beloved Jets. Go Jets!

Honestly only will happen if brady goes down. I do think he will get hurt if the same line in preseason shows up! We need to beat the bills week 1 i think pitt will be off sink week 2 alot on pup list and alot hurt. Week 3 at dolphins should be a gimmie....
3-0 than san fran and texans so well see

Pats have the easiest schedule in the league, with a healthy Brady they easily win at least 14 games again.

Pats' offense is scary. If Brady gets hurt, they're nowhere near as equipped as they were in 2008 to handle it, but that offense is scary. They're going to dominate against that schedule.

Pats' offensive line is an issue now if Vollmer isn't ready to start the season. Doesn't look like Brian Waters is going to save them.

Lloyd, Gronk, Hernandez, Welker...that's an amazing group of weapons. Brady can make that work, even if he doesn't have a lot of time to throw.

Don't think Hoyer/Mallett would be nearly as effective making quick decisions as Brady can. The running game and defense are below average. The Pats are all about the passing game. It's a dominant passing game, but the whole team is predicated upon Brady.

They would still be a 7-9 win team without Brady unless Hoyer/Mallett was a disaster. But they better hope they can keep Brady upright.

Seeing as Brady's only been really badly hurt once in his career, I wouldn't count on it.

Nothing wrong with a little optimism. Even if its mostly due to the thought of Brady getting hurt. Haha. The Jets can win the division, but likely another 2nd place finish is in the cards.

The man I'm most worried about is Chandler Jones. The one thing the Pats never had the last few years was a pass rush. This guy has looked like the second coming of Reggie White this preseason, literally throwing left tackles to the ground. If that guy can help bring a pass rush to that team, watch out.

I expect their offense to be great. I never expected their defense to be tough.

i don't think it's farfetched imo. we can win it even with Brady not hurt.

Last thing I consider myself is a darksider but I think the chances of us winning the division are extremely low. Between the Pats and the Bills (Yes, I think the bills are a threat this season, they're NOT the easy win they usually are day in and day out as per usual. they're beatable but not to be underestimated) I think it'll be a huge challenge to win this division.

Every season is different and I hope this season is different, but if someone told me we made the WC this season, I would not be disappointed. It's just an accepted reality of dealing with being in the division with Brady.

I love your optimism, but the Pats are the class of the AFC by far, if not the NFL. Their consistency the last decade is nothing short of amazing, especially in the professional league with by far the highest turnover.

Their O-line will be fine. The Patriots have been better than any other team at plugging in no-namers into their front five and never missing a beat (O-line coach Dante Scarnecchia is really underrated). Besides, there isn't a single O-line this year in the NFL this season without a few question marks heading into the opener.

we are more likely to end up 3rd than 1st, but anything can happen. (i actually think we will do reasonably ok this year, ie 2nd)

I keep hearing about how 'easy' the patriots schedule is, and how 'difficult' the jets schedule is (specifically the start of the season). How is this possible, considering, we play the same exact schedule minus 2 games? And in those two games, the patriots should be facing 'better' teams than us (based on last season finishes).

The Patriots will win 12-14 games this year. They are not in trouble.

Because the Patriots are better than the Jets so when going down head to head matches you think the Pats will win more games than the Jets.

Also it could do with location, order of games, home/away. Obviously all this changes since teams we think will be good are bad and vice versa

Next time the Jets win the division I may throw a week long celebratory party. You're all invited via chat.

If it happens this year I'll be stunned.

Cocaine is indeed a helluva drug.

So using this logic, the Browns have the toughest schedule in the league? This is a joke.

The way the Jets win the division is the same way they won it in 2002: 3 teams go 9-7 and the Jets win the tie-breakers.

It has to do with the fact that the Pats face the Jets (8-8) twice, while the Jets face the Pats (13-3) twice. That is a 10 game difference right there.
