Tom Brady shot down speculation Monday that he was suffering from a bout with the flu during Sunday's season-ending loss to the Jets.

NFL.com analyst Pat Kirwan and CBS' Boomer Esiason both suspected that Brady was under the weather when he was caught sniffing ammonia cartridges just before kickoff. Brady's body language and sideline behavior also had Kirwin questioning his health. Brady assured that he felt fine. Of the ammonia, Brady responded, "We all do it. It's kind of a receiver and quarterback thing."

A few posters were wondering what Tom Brady was sniffing right before the game started. Apparently it's ammonia.

I don't know how that's legal. I know a lot of power lifters sniff it before workouts.

I wonder if the league will look into this.

It wakes you up immediately...it makes you more aware I guess.

It's could be considered a performance enhancer now that I think about it.

Though, I think there's ammonia in smelling salts.

At the beginning of the game, Tom Terrific was shown with a half crushed up Gaterade cup and clearly sniffing something. Then he was shown doing the nasty nose blow by holding one nostril shut and shooting snot out the other.
