Default Albuterol Inhaler

Anyone else use it? I was prescribed one yesterday, nasty bout of flu and athsmatic bronchitis at the same time.

Made the mistake of taking 2 puffs, not 1, and doing so right before I was going to try and catch some sleep.

Holy freaking crap. Big mistake. Feel as though I should be painting the Sistine Chapel Part Deux Right now while shooting fireworks out of my ass at the same time.

My wife had an asthmatic attack from bronchitis a year or so ago, albuterol was a Godsend. They gave her some "breathing treatments" at the doctor's office when she went in initially (not sure what that was) which helped tremendously. She needed to use it off and on for a month or two until the asthma eventually went away.

I don't remember her having any trouble sleeping except when she didn't use it and couldn't breathe well. Are you sure you weren't huffing Cool Whip cans instead? Those two can be confused easily.

So glad that I didn't buy into his sob story. Watched the guy on "Today" earlier in the week, and he was pretty much crawling out of his skin while giving the interview- said that there is no way he's clean/sober for 3 years.

You're not going to make a thread or "pole" asking if we like you and then blame it on the meds the next morning are you? One of those was enough.

No "pole" will be offered- very few people on this site actually like me- we don't need to back it up with statistics.

Albuterol is not so bad. I don't think I've ever taken the second puff.

I will say that this. When it first came out, I was prescribed Advair, which is that crushed pill inhaler in a purple disc, and the unnatural scent that exited my ass probably could have drowned a buffalo. That is a powerful steroid.

Koz,

How bad is your nervousness? I pulled this from the National Institute of Health site.

To view links in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. Your post count is 0 momentarily.

Albuterol may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

uncontrollable shaking of a part of the body
nervousness
headache
nausea
vomiting
cough
throat irritation
muscle, bone, or back pain
Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
chest pain
rash
hives
itching
swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
increased difficulty breathing
difficulty swallowing
hoarseness

The treatment you get at the Dr. or Hospital will keep you up and get you wired for a little while but a regular pocket inhaler shouldn't.

i've had asthma pretty much my whole life. it started with athletically induced asthma... basically i ran around too much on cold weather for my lungs to be considered happy.
when i was a stupid rebellious teen i smoked cigs, and that shit didn't help. i was using my inhaler like 5 times a day.
i have since stopped the cigs and only smoke the sensimilla... i don't need an inhaler anymore.

its a steroid. so you may be having reactions to that.

if you are having some crazy highs from it, which is odd, you may want to try not holding it in your lungs for so long. like, i'm sure you were told to inhale and hold your breathe. exhale and repeat.
just don't hold your breath for longer than a few seconds.

you'll probably be able to find a time that doesn't get you fubar, but still opens the airways. otherwise, if you're having difficulty breathing, and you're adamant about not using the inhaler... then turn on nothin but hot water in the shower, close the door, and inhale steam for 10-20 min... you'll be good to go.

edit: obviously with piping hot water, you don't want to get IN the shower though

Albuterol is cousin of CLENbuterol. The preferred cutting drug of Roid users....

Next time you're doing drugs...Check with me first...

Albuterol isn't a corticosteroid, its a bronchodilator. There are several other inhaled meds for asthmatics out there that are corticosteroids that reduce inflammation in the lungs (Flovent is one that comes to mind) and some others that are both, but albuterol by itself just dilates the constricted airways from asthma so you can breathe better.
