It's going to be hard to argue with junc about UNC's out-of-conference schedule this year: this is just BRUTAL....

11/19 vs. Ohio State (Coaches vs. Cancer, NYC)
11/20 vs. Cal/Syracuse (Coaches vs. Cancer)
12/1 vs. Michigan State
12/5 at Kentucky
12/19 vs. Texas (at Cowboys Stadium, Arlington)

It's definitely a tough sched but that's good to see. It's good for college basketball when the top teams play in non-conf. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the upcoming season, I know the Heels will be good but many "experts" are picking them in the are of the top 5. The Heels frontcourt will be amazing but there are questions in the backcourt. I am looking forward to seeing this team play.

The sched was weaker last yera but that wasn't the heels fault. On paper it looked like a good sched when they put it together. I would rather this years sched last year but we'll learn alot about the heels quickly this year.

Damn, that is a difficult sched for UNC.

Of course, 'Cuse is labeled as a "Homebody" they never leave NY before Big East play.

They play Florida in Tampa Dec 10th so it is not "never"!

The rest of the pre Big east games are in NY with some big games in NYC.

It's an ok sched. If you beat Cal it gets alot better having to likely face the heels but other than that? Florida in tampa is nice but the only treason they are playing that game is b/c it's part of the BE/SEC challenge and Memphis is not going to be a big time team. It's a decent sched, it's not nearly as tough(on paper) as the Heels sched.

Considering it's Cuse it's a tough OOC schedule...

I've never knocked UNC's schedules... they always have a legit non con sched but that other team down the road is another story.

UNLV has a pretty good schedule as well... Hey junc, we'll soften up Reno for your boys

I've bolded the teams that should be NCAA Tourney teams... I'm excited to see Holy Cross come to Vegas. I've been a big fan of their program and I'll finally get to see them play live this year.

I'm really excited about the Diamondhead Classic... USC, UNLV, Saint Marys and College of Charleston (Bobby Cremins baby!!!) during Xmas. The wife is not gonna let me go but I can still try right?

They're starting the Missouri Valley - Mountain West Challenge this year but I don't like the setup, it's not all on the same night or even in the same week. It's over a month and a half. It's only the 1st year so maybe they'll amend it to be better but for this year it's somewhat of just a bunch of ooc games.

Have you ever been to an SU game at MSG? We have a huge home court advantage here. NYC is where SU gets the majority of their students.

I usually like to check out the Big West (it's one of my favorite conferences) and I came across the 49ers of LBSU. They have been picked to win the Big West and thier coach is the man who built Gonzaga; Dan Monson but take a look at this non conference schedule. It reminds me of what Fran McCaffery did last year with Siena last year but talk about loading up.

11/19 @ Notre Dame
11/26 West Virginia @ 76 Classic in Anaheim (neutral but close to home)
12/7 @ Texas
12/23 @ Kentucly
12/29 @ Duke

I don't think you'll find a harder non con schedule in the country... he's playing 4 or 5 teams that could be in the Sweet 16.

Just to compare the Zags

11/17 @Michigan State
11/23 - Maui Classic
12/05 Wake Forest
12/19 Duke @ New York
12/31 Illinois
01/02 Oklahoma

So they got Wake Forest, Oklahoma and Illinois to come to Spokane yet Duke will only play a virtual home game against them in New York.

It's gonna be a down year for Siena so they won't have that crazy schedule like they did last year but I'll still be pulling for my boy Fran.

Count me in. I already got my tickets for the UMD game in DC. My first year coming back as an alumni so it'll be weird not being at every home game at the Pavillion. Plus I haven't seen CN8 on the local Hoboken TV Guide so even some of the away games that will be televised I'll miss. Even still the loss of a great senior class will be tough but there is a lot of talent coming into Villanova and they look like they should still be in the elite class of the Big East.

Fordham playing a home game in Jersey? That's quite interesting. Unfortunately the next trip I make back east will be in baseball season... 3 freaking high school graduations uggghh.

Do you really think you can take over the meadowlands playing Fordham?
