Default Jets Def: Worst 3rd down coverage EVER!

It's boils my blood to no end when I see the Jets stuffing runs or stopping plays on 1st and 2nd down, but nooooooooooooooo, come 3rd down, no matter how far to the f'n 1st down marker, they can't cover for there lives! what gives?

on SD's first 3rd down conversion for a 1st (i was pissed as usual), my wife says "they're bound to get a few first downs, why so mad", CURSE YOU DEVIL WOMAN!

no pass rush last night didn't help either. Although I stopped watching the game after SD got the ball and began to march in the start of the 3rd Qtr. I'm already going to bed "mad", why bother going to bed "in full rage".

Yep, our 3rd down Defense was atrocious. After a while I couldn't even watch. The lack of a pass rush was THE reason why SD converted so many 3rd downs.

Between this game and the Miami game, we certainly seem to be very vulnerable to the slant pattern over the middle.

Agreed. I noticed that on more than a few plays. Seems like they clear out space and bring someone across the middle (leaving the defender trailing). It's painful to watch.

Also think no defender cover the back when coming out of the backfield. when we dump a pass off, seems like opposing Def are always there. they do it, positive things happen. I'm sure most of this is Jet pessimism talking, but can't argue with painful intuition (teams will always convert of 3rds, or go for it on 4th & inches from anywhere).

Don't forget the same crossing patterns New England beat us with to Welker. Those passes and the pass to the fullback at the goal line always work against this defense. Where is the adjustment to defend these plays?

Big reason for this is because we do not have a single linebacker who can drop into coverage and at least be as good as my fat ass would be out there with a fucking hot dog in one hand and my tiny little cock in the other.

Every game so far. Usually when a team throws short of the sticks on 3rd down they get stopped, but against us the middle seems to be wide open for the catch and run. Once they have the first down, suddenly there are our guys for the tackle. That needs to be fixed fast or we're not getting the D off the field all year.

Different coaches, different players....same results on 3rd down.
