Default Two Previous Drafts, 14 picks, 6 Starters and 2 more impact players

The 2006 Draft saw the Jets get two immediate starters on the offensive line in Mangold and Ferguson, Kellen Clemens, a guy who could be the QB for the forseeable future, an explosive RB in Leon Washington, a great gadget player in Brad Smith and two solid role players in Drew Coleman and Eric Smith.

2007 the Jets got two immediate starters on defense in Revis and Harris, two guys who are now cornerstones of the defense and could be perennial Pro Bowlers for years to come. A project offensive lineman with some potential and a wide receiver who if he stays healthy could contribute as a slot receiver.

My point is this regime has a history, albeit short one of drafting well. The Schelgel pick sticks out as a mistake but that's going to happen. I'm skeptical butI like what Keller brings to the table (his youtube highlight video is sick) and if this front office saw something in these other guys I'm going to have faith in them. Because the bottom line is so far Mangini and Tannenbaum have a very good record of scouting and I think it's worth giving them the benefit of the doubt until at least these guys are fitted for their uniforms.

well this is the type of post aimed at bringing people off the ledge. While there are a million posts in the threads all ready created this probably is a really good idea for it to have it's own thread. Plus this isn't so over the top with optimism like the "We're gonna beat the Pats thread" going on at the moment. So I think this is the perfect post at a time this board needs people to talk them off the ledge.

On a side note, I trust this front office and their scouting ability. if they think Keller is the next Shannon Sharpe they needed to go get him. If they think that Lowery can be our FS of the future, good choice. If they think Danny Woodhard has a chance to make our roster, then screw the fact ESPN had him on film talking to us, before the Mr. irrelelvant selection. Glad to have him in Green and White, as well as every other UDFA we bring in to compete this training camp!

GO JETS!
