over the weekend my wife and kids went shopping at the mall.when they returned from there expensive trip (as always when you have 4 kids) my wife was glowing about 1 special purchase.my oldest son ,who is 5 years old, asked my wife if he could buy a Hannah Montana shirt.i of course am now sweating around the collar on why he would want such a thing.he tells my wife its for a girl in his class.he wanted to give her a present for her birthday on wednesday (today 4/16).

so for the past couple of days we keep joking about if he likes her, is she his girl friend etc etc.last night at dinner he turns to me and tells me his plans of a secret concotion of 2 colognes while bouncing his eyebrows.he assures me that its guarenteed to make Brianna smile.Polo and Lacoste is his secret btw.

at 730am i call my house and he is up already with his favorite great white shark polo shirt, blue denim jeans and his fresh new jordans on.and of course my wife says you can smell him a mile away.they put her shirt in a disney princess bag with all the tissue paper and such.fill out the card
To Brianna

Love
LiL 17a

and when he was told by my wife to write Love, he turned and smiled a huge grin.no overreacting of YUCK or NO WAY. just a cool and confident grin.

cool and confident just like the old man.boy am i proud.and i called this morning to wish him luck and tell him i love him.

Nice! Li'l pimp!

This past weekend we were at a party for my wife's friend's daughter. So the kid's cousins were there, and my boys were hanging out with them (my boys were the only boys at the party). By the time we left, my oldest was getting the oldest girl's phone number.

Grins and winks between me and him all the way home.

its not gay if my eyes where closed and picturing murrell.plus all i got was a hand job

and yes its awesome to have my son having great interest in what i love.

want to know something even better.its personal but ill share it.my father took me to opening day every year since 85,and jets games since i was 6.so i have been doing the same with my son and telling him about his grandpa who was taking from me at the young age of 20 b/c of cancer.i have been putting sports memorabilia in his room since birth and have a lithograph of Ebbetts Field which has a actual brick from the stadium.

so we are approaching shea stadium on opening day this year, talking about this is the last year we will be seeing that stadium from the Grand Central and how i always get excited seeing the rim of the stadium.my son leans forward from the backseat, and tells me"daddy you know that picture in my room of Ebbets Field and how your daddy (grandpa) loved that stadium, well im gonna hang a picture of Shea Stadium in my sons room when i get older and tell him about you"

yes i am very happy with my life at this point and it feels great.

What a relief... I can empathize with ya, 17a. However, my work is still cut out with my son.

I'm a Reds fan, no biggie. My son, however, straddles the fence between being a Yankees fan and a Red Sox fan.

I cry myself to sleep at nights. <sigh>

I won't clog up your thread with another story of my own. I'll simply let it suffice to say that reading that actually choked me up a bit.

That's the most awesome thing in the world to hear.
