Twins-White Sox also postponed. Interesting how they're doing it well in advance.

But the Yankees and Royals played in a monsoon last night.

Cardinals have the second-best record in baseball, behind only Arizona.

Orioles and Blue Jays tied for lead in AL East.

Cleveland in 4th place, Detroit in 5th. Tigers have the worst record in baseball by far, just like the old days.

Marlins still lead NL East.

Yankees and Red Sox tied for last in AL East with Rays (admittedly only a game back).

Borowski blows yet another save, this time against Boston.

It never ceases to amaze me how Cleveland has kept this crappy pitcher as a closer the last two seasons. Total garbage. I wouldn't even want him on my team.

Whether they think Betancourt and Perez are suited for the closer's role or not, they need to make a change.

first he blew the save, and now he blows the game.

leadoff double by lugo, who scored. then with 2 outs and no one on, Ortiz singled and Manny homered.

6-4 now.

update:

Orioles, Royals, A's, Cardinals, Marlins all in first place. All those teams were expected to be bad. Only the Royals had a glimmer of hope with their young bats. I don't know of anyone that predicted any of these teams to finish above 3rd.

Diamondbacks in first, and that's the only first place team that was thought to have any chance.

Bannister's own teammate Grienke is better than he is, and I don't know what you are basing Bowker on.

Barry Zito walked 3 straight Diamondbacks to start off the 2nd and has a 3-2 count on Snyder.

Now it's 2-0.

How about some props to Omar for not going after this guy last year? He has gotten progressively worse every year since 2002.

at least that's one bad move we avoided. I said at the time that anyone who gave the guy big money was making a mistake, because he's not reliable or consistent. He's better than he's been with the Giants, but you can't trust him.

gotta love how Webb drove in the only 2 runs. He's right behind Bannister.
