I work on 55th and 6th so I'll be heading to the parade at lunchtime. Good to see that in addition to boiling all food brought to the table, my people can also throw a hell of a party!

I say that it doesn't matter who or what you like to screw, whether it be another male, female or even an Irish wolfhound- alright maybe I'll leave the wolfhound people at home. I just wouldn't want it to turn into a Greenwich Village Halloween parade.

If you're Irish, it's your given right to march.

However, as can sometimes happen, religion gets in the way and things are simply complicated.

Exactly. However, since St. Patrick's day is a religious holiday first and foremost, they have the right to deny people who go against a major belief of the church from marching.

I agree with you and Koz, although I typically have very conservative values, the idea of labeling people and treating them differently really irks me, even if you do not believe what they are doing is right. Live and let live.....

Exactly. Were I parade Grand Marshal, I'd tell them "March in the parade as Irish men/women, because thats what it is about." I wouldn't be too crazy about them marching under a banner of 'Irish Gays and Lesbians' but to not let them march? Still, I respect the fact that the gov't says the Hibernians can do what they want with the parade, and for years that has been just this. Things have changed in Ireland(gays are allowed to march, though I'm not sure they 'flaunt' it during the parade). Hopefully the same will happen here.

Our little town is mainly Irish so every bar is having some type of shindig. We have 4 Irish bars!
