They give ratings based on a star system, 4 being the highest, Jets got 3...

New York Jets ***

Trading up, the Jets plugged their biggest hole with CB Darrelle Revis, who also returns punts. They traded up to get second-round LB David Harris, a prolific tackler who should step right into their 3-4 scheme.

I am concerned with anyone who had knee surgery which is what Harris had

Several, I think. He had bad knees all 3 years. Played only 9 games combined in his first 2.

Insted of speculating, you could have watched him play. I saw EVERY snap of every Michigan game last year, and he was WITHOUT QUESTION THE BEST PLAYER ON THAT DEFENSE EVERY WEEK.

You will enjoy him from dAy 1.

It's a legit concern. W/ that said, our med staff is pretty conservative, as one of the main reasons we passed on heath miller 2 years back was due to some past injury concerns(which never surfaced).

I'm willing to bet if his knee condition was anything to make(especially w/ D rob's past) he wouldnt have been on our draft board.

Time will tell. he's a heckuva player if healthy.

lol I was going to say, did you watch any of the Michigan games last year? Harrison is a freaking Machine. Knee surgery Schmee Surgery. He obviously did not have career threatening surgery. Also, I do not question the Jets FO ability to test their prospects physically. Remember Suggs?

If Harris stays healthy his talent range at the NFL level is probably good to very good.

I've been watching Michigan football for a long time (they were the thing that kept me sane during the 70's and 90's) and Harris is one of the 3 or 4 best linebackers who have played for Michigan in that timeframe.

Ugh... Yes, he hurt his ACL in year one. He had to have it drained the next year. He had a high ankle sprain in year 3.

I love the Revis pick, but turn the tables... If we selected Harris, the knee issue, combined with the fact that a lot of "draft experts" (whatever that means) say he is not an every-down LB, would have made him a questionable pick for us. Just keepin' it real.

Either way, it looks like Manigni agreed with Belichick that it wasn't a good draft year, hence the lack of picks.

I guess no player in the NFL has ever had knee injuries. A knee injury or any type of injury in this league is a death sentence? Our QB has rotator cuff surgery twice and the "experts " said he was done.
The same experts who critcized us for trading for Coles for his big toe problem.
BTW what are the critics saying about the Riaders drafting Michael Bush who is coming from a broken leg? NOTHING, they are calling it the steal of the draft.
Point is an injury is n ot a death sentence. In a contact sport there will always be injuries, we even have Andre Wadsworth on our team.
Chill out guys.
