Default Opinions on Mock in Progreess..Jets take?

I'm doing a mock at a FF site, theHuddle.com, and am picking for the Jets. Each owner is a fan of the team they are picking for, most pretty knowledgable.

So far, Houston took Ferguson, N.O. took Lienart. Tennessee yet to pick. There are no trades in this mock, so what do I do if Bush falls to me? I guess I have no choice, and I truely believe if the Jets found themselves in this spot, they would do their best to trade own and rape someone. If Bush goes to the Titans, I'll take Cutler.

Mostly, I'm curious to know what people here think the JETS would do in this situation, NOT who you would like. I'm certain the Jets would try to trade for picks.... drafting Bush just does not fit the Belichick/Parcells modus operendi at all. If Mangini really is a disciple, I think he trades down for a 1, a 2, and a one next year, or something like that. Thoughts?

I agree with the last paragraph. I don't think that Reggie Bush is a Mangini type of player considering almost anyone who comes off that tree drafts hard nosed runners which Bush simply isn't. I've been trying to explain this to everyone for a while, yet no one seems to understand.

Agreed.... I don't see these guys going for an RB at all in this draft. Bush could bring some really good picks back.... and like you said, not in the Belichick mold.

I think the jets should trade down get more picks to get more quality players the jets are work in progress and 1 player i.e. bush is not going to make them superbowl contenders.

I know Bush is not the pure physical back that has typically been associated with Belichick and Parcells. However Belichick has always looked for versatile players who can do many things. No one is as big of a multi-threat as Bush is.

Completely agree. That's how guys like Kevin Faulk and Patrick Pass do so well on the Patriots. Versatility is one of the two things that I think is so important in the Patriot mindset, the other of course is accumulating some game-breaking talent. That's why the Pats spend early picks on WRs like Branch and Bethel Johnson and a TE like Ben Watson. The Jets don't have anything like that at receiver, so get one at Running Back. The Jets don't have Tom Brady, so the blueprint's got to change a little.
