He's a pick machine from NC State. He lacks sometimes in coverage but he is a ball hawk. Set the ACC single-season interception record in 2011 as a sophomore with 13 picks. He's not a high round pick. But maybe a manageable player to fill in. Followed up in 2012 with 5 interceptions.

I was really excited about him after last season so I caught a few of his games this year. He actually got burnt more than a couple times and I was disappointed in how he's not a very physical tackler despite his terrific size (6'2"). That being said, he does have unique ball skills and the size to match up with big wideouts. I don't see him as a shutdown corner, but if you're a team with small corners (like the Browns) he'd be a very valuable addition. His relatively poor play this year may have dropped him to the third, but we all know how much rankings on the internet right now mean.

no. we have Kyle Wilson, who I think will get better with time. what I would do instead is draft a safety, a Phillip Thomas type who is a ballhawk.

Funny you mention that... I think Amerson might make a decent ballhawking FS.

I'm just not a fan of pinning a high pick (which Amerson will be) on another cornerback, we have so many other holes that need to be filled. we are probably going to need a running back, tight end, another receiver, some linebackers, 1 or 2 starting guards, a quarterback. it's a huge mess.

David Amerson will get some looks at S, as a corner though i think he has to be in that right system to utilize his skillset because he is a ballhawk.

Tyrann Mathieu would be a good option despite the weed charges... Janoris Jenkins was in the same boat and he is up for rookie of the year

Hell the fuck no.

I watched Amerson play this year at State. He was terrible. Revis and Cro rarely gets burned. This guy gets burned on nearly every single play, he's embarrassing.

If we get him, our defense will suffer. Quarterbacks in the NFL aren't stupid. He'll miss the INT play and the guy he's defending will get a touchdown.

You act as if he'd be starting. He'd be a 4th stringer and would be developed. I wouldn't draft him in the first round. Late rounds.

If Revis or Cro is traded, it should be for pick(s) in next year's draft. There's gonna be at least two franchise QB talents there. Should also be deeper in offensive playmakers than this year's draft.

I saw this guy play a few times this year and I kind of agree with what you're saying. The announcers always talked about how he's a shutdown corner because of all his interceptions but he was routinely burned throughout the games.

I would not trade Revis nor Cro. To have that good of a pair of corners that are still in their 20's, you just can't break that up. Especially since Kyle Wilson is nowhere remotely close to either one of them in single coverage on the outside. Poor technique, doesn't have fluid hips, lacks great size.

Personally, if we were to trade one or the other my favorite round 2nd round pick would be Poyner or Logan Ryan, though I'm a little iffy on Ryan. 3rd-4th round pick would be Wreh-Wilson, though admittedly I think he could slip in to the second round.
