He could handle it in the Arena League! On second thought, how about Canadian football?

Have you seen Yates play? He looked very impressive filling in for Schaub last year.

I would take about 4-5 QBs straight off the list. And there another 2-3 I would take but wouldn't expect great play from because this team lacks offensive talent at the skill positions.

Wilson, Bradford, Locker, Tannehill no. Romo, Vick, Ponder, Luck, Dalton, RGIII would all look a lot different.

It hard judging a backup or new rookie the first 4-5 games when people have no film. Once they get film, things get different.

I would kill for the Jets to have Matt Ryan, would trade Sanchez and Cromartie for him. Although having White and Jones certainly helps.

Turner and Tony G too. Very good team. Built well. Now they just need to put together in the playoffs. They got big wins in the regular season, missed in the playoffs so far

I haven't been a huge Matt Ryan fan, but I think he's starting to win me over. I used to get kind of a got a Trent Green vibe from him, but now I'm starting to get more of a Drew Brees in San Diego vibe. Doesn't really matter because there's no way Atlanta ever lets him go, but yeah, he's good. I'd trade roughly 19 Mark Sanchez's for him.

Theres a ton Of players on that list that I would take straight up , but theres a lot more that goes into actually being sucssesful then just whos behind center. Sanchez Looked bad! He had plenty of help but looked terrible with good protection. The Bottom Line is He either Gets it together or he is gone. We suck as a team and until the defense can stop the run and we can simply hang on to the fucking ball we might have a different result.

As for whether you implied there was a competition, you said originally:

If McElroy was so good, why wasn't he even drafted, and why has he been stuck as 3rd string when the 2nd string QB has changed like 3 times already? Think about it.

Call me crazy, but I think when you said "stuck as 3rd string" you meant that he was there on the merits. The fact is there was no process this camp for determining whether McElroy is more deserving than Tebow of being higher on the depth chart. Tebow was traded for, was announced as Sanchez's backup, and that was that.

This is not mere semantics. Whatever problems McElroy may have, I am virtually certain he is better equipped to run the O than Tebow is, and that is because Tebow is not a real NFL Qb.

But... if you did not mean to say, implicitly or otherwise, that McElroy is third string because he has been given a chance to be higher on the depth chart but has shown he does not deserve to be, if you did NOT mean to say that, then I am glad we cleared that up.

Because if you said that, that would be untrue.
i gotta wonder how a "high" horse would run around the track?

No unrealistic expectations would be put on them. But then we might find out we need to upgrade more than the QB position in the offseason

Cam Newton Newton without a doubt
Jay Cutler Cutler without a doubt
Andy Dalton Obviously Dalton
Brandon Weeden A wash, might take a chance on Weeden though. The Browns probably have worse offensive talent than even us
Tony Romo Would take Romo (tonight's performance aside)
Peyton Manning Manning
Matthew Stafford Obviously Stafford
Aaron Rodgers Obviously Rodgers
Matt Schaub Schaub
Andrew Luck Obviously Luck
Blaine Gabbert Gabbert, younger, more potential
Matt Cassel I'll keep Sanchez, not by much though
Ryan Tannehill I'll take Tannehill
Christian Ponder I'd take Ponder
Tom Brady Obviously Brady
Drew Brees Obviously Brees
Eli Manning Obviously Manning
Carson Palmer Can I choose neither?
Michael Vick Probably a wash, but I'll take Vick for the entertainment factor
Ben Roethlisberger Big Ben the rapist without a doubt
Philip Rivers Rivers obviously
Alex Smith I'll take Smith, less mistakes
Russell Wilson Wilson, more potential
Sam Bradford Obviously Bradford
Josh Freeman Neither
Jake Locker I'd take Locker assuming this injury thing doesn't turn into a chronic problem for him
RG3 Easily RG3

I'm talking a straight up trade right now. So in my opinion, there are maybe only 2-3 QB's I'd rather have Sanchez instead of right now. I took age and potential into account. QB is the most important position in any sport, bar none, and ours is dreadful. The thing about Sanchez that really gets me down is that I have completely lost all hope for him to improve. I just don't see the potential there at all, he is a complete mental midget and is rattled more easily than most QB's I've ever seen. He consistently shows an ability to throw into triple coverage and overthrow open receivers. Every year it's the same thing from his defenders "Give him some time, he'll get better, Schotty sucks, it took Eli a while to break out". It's all B.S. Sanchez doesn't get better, he hasn't on a consistent basis throughout his career.

Come at me Sanchez defenders.
your list is incomplete. it ignores qbs in the UFL, arena league, and the CFL.

otherwise, the answers that are yes will have many more selections.

Terrelle Pryor is looking more like a valid option as the weeks pass.

There are 9 starting guys I wouldn't trade Sanchez for: Palmer, Fitzpatrick, Freeman, Gabbert, Cassel, Weeden, Wilson, Kolb and Alex Smith. I'm undecided on Bradford. Not because none of them are better than Mark, just because none of them make any real impact towards winning this team a Super Bowl. The other 21, yeah, I'd swap.
