Long-time jets fans also wanted Kellen Clemens to start, and brooks Bollinger, and Ratliff, and every other complete incompetent backup. Jets fans tend to think and say "well he couldn't be worse" thing is he can in fact the backup usually is worse that's why he's a backup.

That may be the case. Doesn't change the fact that CC's statement was flat out wrong or ill informed.
