Actually you posted how Pitt was prior to Cowher, why am I not allowed to counter that w/ the facts of the Jets prior to Rex? If we had Cowher and he did the same things our fanbase would be calling for Woody to fire Cowher. In that 1992-1997 span Cowher never won a road playoff game. they were just 5-3 at home in postseason and 0-3 on the road/neutral site.

What makes you think he won't? Keeping Rex for a year isn't exactly asking the world, or having him relinquish his power majorly.

--Prior to 1998, when the Pittsburgh example occurred, Cowher missed the playoffs only once (1998) after making it 6 straight times with 4 division titles and 1 AFC Championship title. Even THEN he wasn't allowed a say in who his new boss would be like Rex Ryan who has zero division titles, missed the playoffs each of the last 2 seasons and 2 out of his 4 years as H.C... Junc you love to argue but you might as well stop going down this path because its pointless. Rex is half the coach Cowher ever was. |

Rex took a rookie and 2nd year QB to championship games, he defeated better teams in the div rd than Cowher ever beat in postseason but yeah he's not half the coach Cowher is. The funny thing is if Cowher was here and had those same results and this was 1998 or 1999 you'd be calling for him to get fired.
