This is taking nothing happens to my CPU or anything but I can help out with updating, getting boards other stuff. I wouldn't change much from how WW85 ran it....but your ideas have some merit no doubt. |

I agree, it is a tradition and I know a handful of you guys look forward to it. Also, our Family is taking a long 2 week spring break Vac to California in March, so that could interview with the draft.

If we actually got the draft continued in March would you ever consider being a GM? If it fit with your schedule of course.

Something I would recommend to anyone running the 7 Rounder. Go to my Profile (WW85) and click on my Threads started to see how I format the draft.
To be completely honest, I took most of my info from particpating in mocks at Jet Insider almost 10 years ago. I don't even think they run it any longer.

I think 2 weeks is enough time to get through 7 rounds....if I had a say, maybe start it early April to be on the safe side?

I think the last couple of years we did a 7 Rounder w/Comps in about 8/9 days.

Very good draft, and a good job running it as well.
I thought my Seahawks draft was mediocre, and while I filled some holes, it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. I wanted to go defense, offense, offense, but had to switch gears because the offensive players went off faster than I expected. |

I don't get the frustration. We did a three round mock in three days. That's pretty impressive if you ask me. I did this many years ago on here and it wasn't half as smooth as this one was.

IMO, anyway we can improve the process is a good thing, I don't claim to have all the answers. I think it can run even better, the 2 hour wait on missed picks is frustrating (when 5 Gms are waiting to pick), maybe we need to look at changing that rule or how the process selecting is done. The main frustration I have recieved from the GMs is one person holds up the entire process and forwarding your board is the solution....but not many want to do it. The most important factor in running a good draft is to have quality GMs that have the passion and enjoy the process.

There were a lot of really good drafts. These were my favorite:
1 *MINNESOTA VIKINGS, MURRELL2878 2 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS, TheCoolerGlennFoley 3 DETROIT LIONS, CodeGreen 4 TENNESSEE TITANS, MURRELL2878 5 CINCINNATI BENGALS, WW85 6 NEW YORK GIANTS, TheCoolerGlennFoley Minnesota got great value at positions of need at every pick. KC would probably be #1 if they didn't have the huge advantage of picking 1st or 2nd every round. Three guys who at some point were all talked about as top-10 guys, all filling needs for them. If the Lions had taken Trufant or Poyer in the 2nd round, I might have them #1. Austin is a really good addition for them, but they've been fighting problems at corner for years and those two guys are first round talents. Moore + Carradine was a huge coup. Tennessee did a good job of filling huge needs with good players. This draft would improve their team a lot. The Bengals filled four big holes with quality players. They look on their way to being the best team in the division. The Giants had two big value picks at positions of need then got one of the few LTs in the draft in the third. Of course, it all depends on whether they get pre- or post-Keukagate Te'o. I have an asterisk next to the Vikings because if the Panthers had gotten Jenkins like the GM wanted to put next to Richardson, they would have been somewhere on this list and Minnesota probably wouldn't be #1. Every time I watched Georgia, Jenkins was the best player on that defense, not Jones or Ogletree. |

Let's pretend I'm GM for Lions in mock draft. I should PM a list of the picks I'd like Lions to take for rounds 1-7 and the moderator pulls from that list if the clock for me to submit pick is running out? Would I be able to send in "the board" multiple times? Let's say I've submitted picks for all 7 rounds but lots of those names are picked up earlier by other GM. Can I make a new board and send it in? or should the original board sent in have 2nd option, 3rd option, 4th option for Lion's pick each round? btw, Thanks for hosting this draft. Was fun to watch. |

Your draft board is for a specific pick. Let's say you are 4 picks away from you being OTC( On the clock) and you have to leave. You need to "forward a board" of 5 players ( in order of preference) you 're willing to draft for that spot.

Yeah, if you have a pick coming up in ten picks or so, send enough names to a moderator to make it to your pick, maybe 5 or 6... up to ten names if you think it's likely more than one will go.

My teams...
Cardinals Grade: B- I'm not crazy about any of the QB's in this draft but the Cardinals need one so bad that outside of a trade they need to take Smith if he is there. The other possibility was grabbbing Fisher as they also needed OL help and waiting to reach for somebody like Glennon in the 2nd. I think at the end of the day Smith will be the #1 pick and the Cardinals will end up with Fisher. Wheaton in the 3rd is excellent value but my target Winters was gone so we went with BPA. Dolphins: B+ Ansah is a bit of a reach for a team chasing the Patriots but with Wake on one side and if Ziggy can be the JPP type player he is being compared to the Phins will have a scary pass rush. Ertz is the best TE in the draft, I've never been sold on Fasano but he gives Tannehill a bigtime target in the red zone. He needs to improve his blocking but he is a real threat catching the ball as evidenced by his numbers at Stanford. Trufant was a tremendous playmaker at Udub and he did well in his senior bowl week. The Phins needed a corner as Sean Smith isn't anything special. Christine Michael is the ultimate boom or bust prospect, he has 1st round talent but his head and injury issues present a risk. He is familiar with Sherman and Tannehill so he should be comfortable in Miami. Goodwin is one of my favorite players in the draft...blazing speed, good hands and an explosive playmaker. His size isn't great but big play capabalities are too good to overlook.

Just want to apologize to everyone for missing my picks. My daughter got very sick over the weekend and that has been pretty much the only thing that was on my mind over the course of the week. Thanks to WW and Johnny for filling in.
