The talent level is very low in this QB class. With the Jets being such a mess on offense the worst possible thing you could do is throw a QB with limited talent on an offense with even less talent, it will ruin his confidence just as we saw with Sanchez.

My plan would be to either acquire Alex Smith or Matt Flynn after they are cut, Matt Moore is a possibility as well. Then draft a QB in a very deep and talented QB class in 2014 including Teddy Bridgewater, Aaron Murray, Tajh Boyd, Logan Thomas, A.J. McCarron, and Johnny Manziel all legitimate 1st round prospects with strong performances next year

I don't think the talent level is real low in QB's, there are a couple that have very high ceilings, but all of them have chinks in their games that also mark them as high bust potential. Some of them due to lack of physical talent, some due to body build, and some due to poor mechanics. The latter group is the one worth taking the risk on, but only in the 2nd or 3rd round IMHO. You can coach up bad mechanics if the QB adapts to the coaching, but thats always so hit and miss.

Hurst really scares me, and personally, I hope he doesn't play another down of football in his life (for his sake). Then again, I don't really know the situation (nobody does), and if he's there and the Jets think hes mentally ok, that has great reward potential. Would be a steal if he works out.

#37: Giovani Bernard RB: The only team who I expect to draft Bernard in the late 1st/early 2nd is Cinci but since we now own both picks the Jets get lucky and get the top RB on the board who adds explosiveness to a team in desperate need.

#39: DeAndre Hopkins WR: My top WR on the board. Good size (6’1) and speed (4.4) and was a major piece in Clemson beating LSU in their bowl game. Ideally the Jets wouldn’t need a WR in the 1st 2 rounds because Holmes, Hill, and Kerly should be a solid top 3 however Hill hasn’t shown much and still needs to develop and Holmes is coming back form a serious injury and will be cut after next season. This pick makes a future receiving core of Hopkins, Hill, and Kerly (not bad)

Bernard will be gone by #34. Some team will take him at the end of the first.

Care to explain why? Several mocks I have seen have both these men going in the early 2nd. Hopkins can rise but as of right now he's the 4-5th best WR, and although Bernard is the best RB in this draft teams tend not to reach on RBs due to their short careers.
