I'm just pointing out that you can't believe ANYTHING an NFL coach, GM, or owner says until after the fact. Especially at this time of the year. ..

It might even block any possible trades.

So you can't really read anything into the situation yet. Wait until the trading period re-opens and see what happens then...
Under that same rule they also can't say they don't want a player.

Exactly. Caldwell hurt the Jets chances of getting value for Tebow by saying what he did. The NFL should be investigating whether the Jaguars need to be charged with tampering.

Did you not just see what happens when a circus (ESPN and ignorant Tebots) comes to town?

I don't mind crappy Jets seasons, but their real fans do and the circus involving Tebow needs to get out of town...He has no value. First round pick to traded for a low picks to nothing.
I have bad news for you. The Jets are a circus full of losers, with or without, Tebow. When you guys are butt fumbling next year and instead of stadium areas like the Dog Pound etc you get one called Crom's Baby Momma section without Tebow the world will still be laughing and drawing a big red nose on your coach.

If he had a losing record as a QB and no success, then perhaps I'd agree with you. Fact is, Broncos with Tebow = same end result as Broncos with Manning. Divisional round loss in the playoffs.

Yeah... no need to play RB or TE.
There's nothing wrong with Tebow admitting he's in over his head and swallow that pride and take a job he'd actually excell at. Seriously, history is LITTERED with the bones of people, leaders, and entire civilizations that have gone down to ruin because they stubbornly stuck to their guns even when it was obvious it was stupid to do so. Tebow can either "stick it to guys like me" and sit on the bench as a gimmick QB and drift off to the CFL or even the Arena league.... or he can swallow that pride, and salvage a career most men dream about and so few get the opportunity to experience. Use that other talent he has, and run with the ball.

...and you really think it does Tebow more good to stick it to some guy like me on the internet and follow the same course that landed him in this mess otherwise known as his sinking career? WOW!!! Wake the EFF up!!! his career is going NOWHERE right now!!!! ...and you call yourself a fan...

As for the results being the same as with Tebow, I doubt we even get a sniff of the playoffs, let alone a Divisional round loss in the playoffs. Teams would just watch what happened during the 1-4 stretch where they backed into the playoffs because Tebow couldn't grind out a first down. Stack the box, and go with man coverage. Worked 80% of the time. This is why his career might be coming to an end in the NFL, cuz they actually watched the games and paid attention to the whole thing.

...and Tebow will be spending most of his time on the bench, or perhaps starring in his own reality show.

I can only imagine the kind of shows he would have...

Yeah, and there are a few Tebowners out there that won't spit that hook out of their mouths too. They truly believe the Jags new GM really wants Tebow but just couldn't admit it. What else do they have, though? it is the only real option Tebow would have if he wants a chance to start any time soon, and he has some roots there, even if he DID choose New York. (Yes, he chose New York over Jacksonville when Elway gave him the choice between the two.)

that is a team looking to start over. Obviously have no interrest in bringing that kind of circus to a team they are trying to rebuild from scratch. I'd be shocked if they went and got Tebow after being released.

Anyone here think the Jets WON'T release Tebow?

Tebow can bring a lot of good things to any football team. It's too bad that Caldwell doesn't see things that way. Any team would be lucky to have him.

Don't you have to be Catholic to be the Pope?

Unfunny.

I'm actually a practicing Catholic who admires the strength and honesty of Tebow's faith. I'm not offended and I doubt Tebow would be either. He seems to have a pretty good sense of humor about such things. Lighten up a little...

I'm not a Catholic, but it's not something to joke about, and that is all people are doing. They're mocking the Pope to some degree, but mostly they're just trying to mock Tebow. Sorry, I have a great sense of humor, but it isn't funny.

What's wrong with mocking the Pope? He's eminently mockable.

As long as it's not done with mean spirit to his followers, he's hilarious. I mean, have you seen the hat?
