Name me another back up player in the NFL that would get the attention that Tebow is getting just because he is NOT starting a completely meaningless game on Sunday???

The attention that this meaningless decision to start Sanchez over Tebow is getting from the national sports media is ridiculously and grossly disproportionate to the decision and the game on Sunday. Who cares if Tebow starts or not? What difference does it really make? It is clear the Jets do not consider Tebow to be a starting NFL QB. That is why he is not starting. I can't wait until he is far far away from here and this season if over.

Thanks Woody and Tanny for screwing up the season with this absurd acquisition.

I would rather see anybody else QB this team on Sunday but Tebow. And I mean anybody.

And how does this ruin his career? That makes no sense. If Tebow was hurt, would his career be over? Does every team put so much stock in the Jets decision to not play him that nobody in the NFL will want him next season??? Of course not.

This was a pure football and future decision for the Jets. Tebow is not in the Jets future plans while McElroy still is and Sanchez may be because of his salary. The Jets do not owe a start to a player who they have determined will not be on the roster next year and a one game audition is not going to impact his value to another team (if he has any).

Why don't you people get it? At this point 31 teams (including the Jets) do not think Tebow is an NFL QB. The only team that does may be Jacksonville. Why should the Jets start a player at QB that they do not think is a starting QB? To appease ESPN? To appease Tebow's massive fan base? NO. It's over for Tebow as a Jet unless Sanchez is hurt. Time for all of you to get over it.
Tebow is the absolute best thing ever to happen to Mark Sanchez. If so many people weren't distracted by the Tebow side show, the steaming pile of shit that is Mark Sanchez would smell even worse with the spotlight shining on it.

Please stop writing garbage like "Why should the Jets start a player they do not think is a starting QB?". The answer, which is clearly seen by anyone who isn't a drooling retard, is that the Jets have been starting a player that NOBODY thinks can be a starting qb (Sanchez). You cannot avoid questions about why you don't start a QB who "everyone" thinks is terrible when you start a different QB that "everyone" *knows* is terrible.

That being said, if I never hear the word "Tebow" or "Sanchez" mentioned again in the same sentence as "The Jets", I'll be very happy.

Denver had a great defense? They finished 24th in the NFL in scoring defense, 20th in total yards given up per game, 18th in passing yards allowed per game, 22nd in rushing yards given up per game ... and they stunk even worse before Tebow took over and improved the Broncos running game.

The fact that the Jets had a back who could catch the ball, pick up a blitz and help his QB and did and it was a huge part of our O seems to go missing on most Jets fans.

We don't have a Full back who can take a swing pass or a running back who can pick up the blitz let alone have a clue how to drift into space to help their QB. Add in a young, inexperienced WR corp and a weak running game at best and you have a recipe for dissaster. The fact that we have a RT and LG who should be on the practice squad is another issue.

None of this makes Sanchez a franchise QB who should have been drafted at 5. He is a second tier NFL talent, but none of it has helped him have a fighting chance of becoming at least an efficient game manager with the kind of live arm that can exploit teams that cheat up against the run.

So wrong it's funny. The best thing for Sanchez would have been a backup who was a backup with experience and could step in a fill the void easily. We would have made the switch to Drew Stanton so much quicker than the ARZ game if Tebow wasn't the backup.

And arguably the best thing to happen to Sanchez was the contract he received this past offseason.

This right here. Sanchez was never great, but it's not like we kept on putting him in a position to look great. We depleted the roster after his second year for whatever terrible reason.

I hope Sanchez has to come out and Tebow refuses to go in.

I hope so too because I'd rather watch us play without a qb at this point.

Their defense held the opposing team long enough for Tebow to come and win the game in the end.
