I don't necessarily like either (like most), but either are sitting there at our second round pick, they have to be heavily considered. Both could fit pretty well in our system.

If I had my choice I would take Geno

I see what you did there. New GM means new approach or at least we hope so.

For you people who are saying neither? Would you say no to either in the second? I understand the flaws with both but in the second I don't think we can pass on that.

I'd definitely CONSIDER both in the second, but frankly we need to be looking at 2014 QBs, not this years QBs.

Build an offense this year and then next year bring our rookie QB into a good environment .

The second round is very tempting. I guess it's bad logical thinking on my part, but there would be a reason that 32 teams passed on one of them and then some teams did it again before we got to our second round pick right? IT would have to take a look, but with so many holes on this team, I'm not sure.

Now hypothetically we trade someone and have an extra 2nd out of it, you have to highly highly consider it in my opinion

W know that to be untrue though. I'm not saying 2nd round pick would be good or bad, but you never know what you're going to get whether the guy is a first rounder or seventh rounder.

The draft in any sport is a crap shoot. With football you also tend to have more hits in the later rounds than other sports.

I expect at least two QB's to be drafted before #9. If Locker, Gabbert and Sanchez can go in the top 10 then Barkley, Smith Glennon, Nassib could also.

Yeah I get that. I mean I mentioned it's probably bad logical thinking, but wouldn't something nag you in the back of your mind why the league passed on either one if they remained for us in the 2nd round? Obviously teams needing QBs ahead of us passed on them twice. It shouldn't cause me to hesitate but it would.

And QBs for the most part I believe come earlier than later.

JackGuru, I'm just not hot on forcing the issue by plugging in either of these QBs (even if they fell to the 2nd round) just for the sake of putting a Sanchez alternative on the field. I'd first rather fill in the talent gaps with safer picks for units needing it in '13.

If and when the Jets pull the trigger on a QB, obviously we'll want it to be someone with a real shot at sticking long-term and I'm just not convinced about dedicating a high draft pick on either of these two. The Jets already have a huge shopping list as it is: shore up the OL, get some LB edge speed (not Mingo!), a safety, RB, WR, DL, TE ....and some Flight Crew upgrades in '13. ;-)

Jets will probably bite in 2013 and pick high in the 2014 draft - then look at our QB options. Maybe even consider moving up in the draft (e.g. from 5-6 to 1-2) to grab a can't miss QB prospect should Idzik & co. see such a QB sitting there. jm2cts.
