How exactly would one of us win that bet? I'm in. If you have a portal to the alternate universe where Rex was fired this week, let's put our money down now and Jon___Snow can hold it for us until we come Back From the Future.

Don't coaches usually hire/fire coordinators? That seems perfectly within Rex's realm of duty.

You people are all acting delusional. How is Woody a dumb-ass? Seriously...?

He didn't fire one of the more successful coaches in our relatively unsuccessful history. ZOMG!!! He gave the coach public support so it wasn't painfully obvious he was a lame duck. OMG!!!!! He dares to want the GM to get along with the head coach. OMG!!!!!

Seriously, the whining and posturing by some posters on here is sooo stupid. NOTHING Woody would have done would make things better for you. It must be fun to be this miserable.

I am sorry so Johnson just rode around on Yachts spending his parent's inheritance. He runs a very successful business to maintain his wealth and also does a tremendous amount of philanthropic work but don't let good opinions get in the way of your hate for this dumbass.

GM is usually the one in charge of hiring and firing. Sometimes HC/GM are the same person.

Every organization is a little different and it dependent on what said HC and GM are good at. I'm sure the HC is usually consulted but in this case we are saying Rex got to pick his coordinators/players and it backfired so why would you let him do it again?

He has nothing to do with J&J. I think he bought an investment company back in the 70s from his inheritance . He sits on the board and doesn't have a clue just like with the Jets.

Coaches just coach so when a Vernon Gholston shows up at your locker room you just make sure he fits into the GMs vision of the team.

Who picked the CEO - the GM? Can you give me a little more details about the meetings you sit in on?

Didn't say anything about running J &J - I think he runs a very successful investment firm as you say. He hires and he fires.

“Woody Johnson needs to sit down with some GMs who have built something this offseason,” Edwards (Herm)said. “The conversation he has to have is whether or not Tannenbaum is going to be GM. They need to settle on a philosophy, figure out what money they’re going to spend, and execute. I don’t think if you get rid of Tannenbaum, you need to get rid of Rex, too.”

Well I'll be another dumbass who thought keeping Ryan wasn't such a crazy idea.

Hint that Rex is the wrong guy...stays with a drowning QB far too long...
some will say it's tanny's fault and he made Rex stay with Sanchez and not bench him.

Hint: You don't get a tattoo of your wife wearing only a jersey and put your QB's number on your arm in INK if your not totally sold on the guy...

Most football people support keeping Rex. Most football people know Rex is a very good coach. Most successful organizations the GM does not hire the head coach the owner does.
Charles Casserly thinks the notion GMs would avoid the Jets is stupid. Rex is a positive not a negative.

I really think a few of the negative aggressive trolls are media on here stirring things up. Then the mindless drones follow rt along.

Who has a say on their boss? I have interviewed my potential boss happens all the time in the real world.

Lets not forget he did not go to Tebow that is really what this backlash is all about from the media. He cost them a bunch of headlines and TN jet.

Is it possible you are a transplant from the Jet organization for damage controll?
Are you a season ticket holder? PSL owner? People who pay money to watch this team want to see progress and a competive team. Last year we saw neither, and now that guy who charges the second highest ticket prices in the land, just gave a ringing endorsement to a coach who is responsible for almost all of it. The problem is the owner that never had to work for or worry about money. I hope the Giants win it all next year, just to stick it to Woody and this joke of a franchise. And I hate the Giants with a passion.

I think Rex is an amazing HEAD coach and has all the tools in the world to get us to the Super Bowl. I am a huge Rex supporter and I think he shuts a lot of the people on this board up in the future. I'm excited to see that Woody seems to realize that continuity is key to being a successful franchise year in and year out and I see Rex being here for a very long time.
I
I am very excited to see that Rex knows that the offense has been to predictable, he knows that we have to be an attacking offense in order to be a dominate team and that is very encouraging. With that mind set it is clear to me that they are going to go out and get the absolute best personal possible in order to make that attacking offense a reality.

We already know the defense is always going to be good with Rex here, so that is one major obstacle out of the way. If we get the other side of the ball close to that, we are going to see a lot of great things from this team.

I don't think it's as bad people say. People are screaming like we went 1-15 last year. Yes our offense is putrid and we have no QB. With that being said, we are only a veteran QB, decent OC with a few play makers away from contending again. With the right moves by our GM that can happen this off season. Now I'm not worried in the least about the D, as I have faith in Rex . So I'm just going to sit back and see what happens. Remember we are only a few pieces away.
