who cares if we promised him? teams say all sorts of things and makes all sorts of promises during the run up to the draft - they don't mean anything. every year players are promised all sorts of things and then those promises wind up not being worth much because this is a business and teams makes business decisions, they don't worry about a promise that may have been made to 4 different players.

Drafting the BPA is a good strategy that has worked for many successful organizations. There are exceptions - but typically drafting BPA is a sound approach. Coples was BPA and he looks to be progressing very well.

"He's a good football player," Bradway continued. "I know a lot of us gave him pretty good grades, but when you look at the Alabama game and you look at what's happened since, it just scares you a little bit. ... It has caused everybody to go back and re-watch and see what we have here. It's going to be interesting to see where he's drafted."

If the Jets go defense in Rd 1, Jones and Te'o are the only 2 players that should be considered.

Jarvis Jones is an unbelievable talent and probably will be drafted in the Top 5 and the Jets may need 4/5 wins to have a chance.

Te'o may should be available to the Jet's in the 5- 10 range. I rarely use the phrase "can't miss" , Te'o is that can't miss player that will lead a defense for a decade.

Both players have NFL stardom in their future, great players that purely dominate.

For the Mingo fans, please don't even consider drafting him, he's an utter disappointment this year. Star L. will be long gone and I really don't want to invest in a nose tackle when our LB group is almost on Medicaid.

A wildcard would be Dee Milliner, CB, Bama, I agree it isn't a current need, but if Jones and Te'O are gone, Milliner could be the BPA. A terrific man to man coverage back, that has skills similar to Revis. Also, Jet fans are going to have to accept that 2013 is going to be Revis' last year as a Jet. Tanny's contract gave Revis an out from the Jets and is URFA in 2014.

Just some points I've been thinking about to share with you guys. Jones & Te'o should be the #1 targets on defense.

Speaking of Medicaid, what about Jarvis spine problem?

If he goes before nine, we may have a shot at Jordan.

Hell no to Teo.

And as far as CB goes I'd like to see Mathieu at the top of the third.

I hope we can bring in a Free Agent and maybe draft someone like Sean Renfree in a middle Rd.

If we are going to suck in 2013, which is possible, we will have some solid QBs to look at in Rd 1 in 2014 and Sanchez' contract wouldn't be hanging over our head. That's why I will pass on Geno, Matt & Tyler in 2013.

Eniough QB talk, don't want to derail this thread.
Don't sweat it. Jets said they will not be addressing the QB spot in the draft.

So, if BPA is Center, or Corner....?

That's a bromide.

There has to be a symbiosis between best player and need

BPA available only works if there is a clear cut difference between the players and you don't have loads of holes to fill.

Teams like the Pats and 9ers can get away with it because they are playoff teams without any rookies making an impact. This year we need players to come in and start games.
