To answer your question . I think tebow is 99% done. I posted my detailed thoughts on another thread about it. Your side won out (salute) maybe he plays again in the NFL , sure anything is possible just not probable. Last edited by CowboysFan; 01-14-2013 at 10:48 AM. |

So if those QB's have the skills to play in a more "standard NFL offense", then why are their teams running the option (albeit with 500% more creativity than Fox/McCoy called for it in Denver last year)? The offense that all the Tebow haters said has no chance of succeeding in the NFL, it set the NFL back 50 years. Does it have no chance of succeeding in the NFL with them running it also, and if not, then why not? It already worked with Tebow, and it worked with them this year, too. When is it going to stop working?

OR, it could be that they're running with more creativity because their coaches are vastly superior offensive play-callers than John Fox and Mike McCoy, as was on display several times this weekend with even the great Peyton Manning under center. In 11 years as an NFL head coach, Fox's teams have averaged being the 19th highest scoring offense in the league. He had 4 teams in his tenure with Carolina that scored less points per game than the Broncos under Tebow last year. An Offensive mastermind, he definitely is not. Tebow averaged almost 7 points more per game with Studesville as the interim coach in late 2010, + a few veteran wide receivers.

Plus they did let him throw a lot in the Miami and Detroit game, but he kept denting cars in the parking lot so they went to the run option and threw as minimally as possible. Fox himself said it wasn't working when they changed it up to play to his strengths. (Which can also be code for staying away from his weaknesses.... namely throwing.) It was the limitations one had with Tebow. Now, the excuse that none of the coaches were willing to work with him might be valid, but don't tell me that Tebow is just as good at throwing the ball as those other guys. he was piss poor throwing it most of the time. Gotta work with what you had. A wise man knows his limitations, and our coaches knew what they could and could not do. Tebow really only belings in the conversation with those others due to his mobility. Mobility like that is a bonus, but unfortunately about all Timmy can do. Though, Tebow kinda sucked on reading pass defenses too. |

By the way, I'm pretty sure I asked and you still haven't answered just why, exactly, Denver scored almost 7 points more with Tebow in late 2010 than with Tebow in 2011, with 2 of those 3 games coming against the #1 and #2 pass defenses in the league that year. ??? |

The point is, he never really had a good passer, and was kinda forced to lean heavily on a run game. you really think that was supposed to change with Tim Tebow, who's only real asset he brings to the table as a QB is his ability to run? He actually had a lot more pass plays called with Orton, and especially with Manning. I'm guessing Fox doesn't have such a long history of being run heavy if he had more Manning types in his career to throw the ball. The point was obvious. Forget you need it drawn out in crayon sometimes. |

Plus that question on whether Manning can come back from the neck surgeries has been answered. Hard to argue with a 13-3 season even if there were a lot of crappy teams on the schedule. The Broncos weren't always winning those in years past. Just a couple seasons ago, those games were 50/50 at best. |

Still waiting for your enlightened knowledge on why the 2010 Broncos under Tebow scored almost 7 points more per game than the 2011 Broncos under Tebow. Only major difference was the coach. Seems pretty correlative to me. |

Jets might be scared shitless to release Tebow. Wrecks will look like crap if he shows up somewhere else and kicks his butt again like the Denver game a year ago.
