Default An Early 2013 NFL Mock Draft Round 1 (All 32 Teams w/ Trades)

01: Kansas City Chiefs - Star Lotulelei (DT, Utah)
- I think KC holds off on their QB situation until the 2nd round. Piolo has said he likes Mike Glennon a lot, so if he's still the GM I expect that to be their pick in the second. Star in my opinion is the best defensive player in the draft. he's a need for KC on the DLine with Glenn Dorsey gone. explosive pass rusher and closes up running lanes with his massive frame.

02: Jacksonville Jaguars - Jarvis Jones (OLB, Georgia)
- we all know about Jones spinal issue. he may be a short term player, maybe not. I think Jacksonville takes the risk. Jones is a phenomenal pass rusher and probably the best in the class. he has a quick burst off the edge and has a knack for creating turnovers. he's the kind of player Jacksonville needs.

03: Oakland Raiders - Damontre Moore (DE, Texas A&M)
- Oakland needs help everywhere. but one of their main needs in an edge rusher. Oakland's DLine for the most part is old and they aren't producing. Moore will come into the NFL and get you anywhere from 10-15 sacks, I believe this kid is going to be great in the NFL and the sky is the limit for him. Oakland needs a player like this, could be a young leader for the defense.

04: Philadelphia Eagles - Geno Smith (QB, West Virginia)
- Andy Reid is on the way out, the GM is possibly on the way out, Mike Vick is on the way out, Nick Foles isn't the answer. Philly might as well start over. Geno Smith is a very accurate passer, he's not very mobile but he could pick up a few yards with his legs. he can make all the throws in the NFL and I think it's a guy the Philadelphia fans can get behind.

05: Detroit Lions - Demarcus Milliner (CB, Alabama)
- I honestly believe that if Detroit passes on Milliner they are in trouble. the DLine is fantastic, their linebackers are decent, could be better. but their secondary is abysmal. everywhere these guys are getting thrashed. when you play Aaron Rodgers twice a year you have to have a great corner back. Milliner is shutdown for Alabama. he will be the be the centerpiece of Detroit's secondary and have opposing quarterbacks think twice before throwing his way.

06: Buffalo Bills - Tyler Wilson (QB, Arkansas)
- The Bills will be in the market for a franchise quarterback. they could go after Mike Vick or Alex Smith, but GM Buddy Nix wants a fresh face. he's already confirmed he wants to go after a QB in the draft and wouldn't hesitate on trading up for one. Tyler Wilson is a great quarterback, arguably the most complete in the draft class. he ha struggled against solid competition this season but I think with a good mini camp he will be the answer in Buffalo.

07: New York Jets - Manti Te'o (ILB, Notre Dame)
- this is a trade with the Cleveland Browns, we give up a 2013 3rd and 5th and a 2014 2nd round pick. it's a lot, but in the long run it is worth it. Te'o is the kind of player we need on the Jets, he's a leader on and off the field. Rex can mold him into a natural pass rusher on the outside until we ship off David Harris, because he isn't going anywhere in 2013.

08: Tennessee Titans - Jake Matthews (OT, Texas A&M)
- now before you jump down my throat saying "why is Matthews gone before Joeckel" listen to my reasoning. Bruce Matthews is the offensive line coach in Tennessee. Kevin Matthews also plays on the Titans. Bruce is Jake's father and Kevin his brother. I think Bruce talks the GM into making this pick. Jake would love to play for his dad, and he and Kevin can play off of each other.

09: Arizona Cardinals - Luke Joeckel (OT, Texas A&M)
- Arizona I think goes after a QB in Free Agency, maybe Alex Smith. if not they draft a QB in the 2nd. Joeckel is too good to pass up especially at the 9th overall pick. Arizona' OLine could use work. I'm sure it's a pick a lot of Zona fans won't like at first but over time they will come to appreciate it.

10: San Diego Chargers - Bjoern Werner (DE, Florida State)
- Shaun Phillips is most likely on the way out. SD drafted Ingram last year, this year they take Werner. Ingram/Werner on the edge has the chance to make SD DLine one of the most ferocious in the league. Werner is a massive man and gets a lot of double coverage in FSU, that usually feeds into Jenkins/Carradine getting sacks or in this case Ingram. they can both feed off each other and make each other better.

11: Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Johnathan Banks (CB, Mississippi State)
- I'm pretty sure TB's secondary gives up the most yards in the NFL, I could be wrong. Banks seems like an easy pick here, with Milliner gone they go to the second best option. after the Aqib Talib trade there has been a massive void in TB's secondary. Banks adds to a young TB secondary with Mark Barron and if Ronde Barber sticks around he will be a great mentor to Banks.

12: Cleveland Browns - Dion Jordan (DE, Orgeon)
- after Cleveland traded down and saw that the guys they wanted (Te'o, Werner and Moore) are off the board they go to the next best option in Dion Jordan. Jordan is a freak athlete, insane speed off the line. Jordan is just what Cleveland's hard nosed defense needs. they got the corners, they got the linebackers they just need that pass rusher that can hopefully help win a few more games inside their division.

13: St. Louis Rams - Taylor Lewan (OT, Michigan)
- Carolina and STL trade spots in the draft and STL gives up 2013 3rd rd selection in the process. STL needs OLine help, they have Wayne Hunter for crying out loud! STL can not risk losing out on Lewan so they trade up. Lewan is one of the better tackles in the draft he has a big frame, great run blocker and solid in pass protection. someone Bradford needs to rely on so he doesn't end up in the dirt.

14: Pittsburgh Steelers - Barkevious Mingo (OLB/DE, LSU)
- Woodley and Harrison are getting older, but can still play a few more years. adding Mingo would be a great addition to the team. Mingo can learn from Woodley/Harrison and bring Pittsburgh DLine back to what we remember it being. Mingo isn't a guy I'm very high on, but he does have a lot of upside.

15: Miami Dolphins - Eric Fisher (OT, Central Michigan)
- Jake Long is done in Miami, so this is an obvious pick for Miami. their OLine is already pretty good to begin with, adding Fisher makes it even better. they fill a void at the LT position with a 6'8 300+ lb behemoth.

16: New Orleans Saints - Johnathan Hankins (DT, Ohio State)
- New Orleans DLine just isn't very good, their defense in general just isn't very good. Hankins will help stop the run and get you a few sacks, he's an immediate upgrade to New Orleans defense.

17: Carolina Panthers - Keenan Allen (WR, California)
- seeing Hankins go before their pick, Carolina decides to switch gears and draft offense. Cam Newton needs more weapons, Steve Smith is in his 30's so with the 17th overall pick the Panthers take Allen. Cam and Keenan will have instant chemistry, I see this duo as being one of the best in 2013. he has great hands, is a deep threat and added with Steve Smith, Cam has a stout offense to work with.

18: Dallas Cowboys - Chance Warmack (OG, Alabama)
- Dallas needs linemen. Romo is always on the ground and gets hurt as a result. Chance Warmack is going to be an elite guard, he is being scouted as one of the best guards in the past decade. the guard position is undervalued as a whole so he drops to 18. Chance has a large frame and excels in run blocking for Alabama. running the ball is an issue for Dallas especially when Demarco Murray isn't playing. Dallas should focus more on running the ball in 2013 so Romo isn't forced to throw interceptions which he does a lot.

19: New York Giants - Ezekiel Ansah (DE, BYU)
- in the short time Ansah has played football he picks up the game as a fast rate. he has a big wingspan and gets to the quarterback, I can only imagine what kind of numbers this kid will put up in a few years. Ansah paired with JPP is a deadly combination in New York. Osi is also on the way out and Justin Tuck just sucks, plain and simple.

20: Chicago Bears - Alec Ogletree (ILB, Georgia)
- Ogletree may stay his senior year, but I think he comes out. Urlacher doesn't have many years left, maybe 1 or 2 so they draft Ogletree to be his replacement when he leaves. for now he could play OLB or even safety if Chicago wanted. Ogleetree is always around the ball and has exceptional speed for a linebacker.

21: Minnesota Vikings - Sheldon Richardson (DT, Missouri)
- Minnesota does need another receiver but they can address that in round 2, DT is one of Minnesota's biggest concerns. they have two good DE's in Allen and Robison but they just need that interior linemen to help stop the run and create sacks for the two DE's. Richardson is a beast in his own nature, he will get sacks. I think when Minn plays Green Bay they will eat up that OLine twice a year and get to Rodgers.

22: Cincinatti Bengals - Sam Montgomery (DE, LSU)
- Cincy's DLine is already good but why not make it even better? Montgomery is good value at 22, he fits right into the AFC North division. I feel Montgomery is better than Mingo but that's just me. he has a nice burst off the edge, and positioned next to geno Atkins is a nightmare for opposing OLine's and QB's.

23: Indianapolis Colts - Bennie Logan (DT, LSU)
- Logan is expected to declare this year and I have Indy trading up two spots with the Rams to get him. they give up a 2013 4th round pick. Logan is a need on the Indy DLine, they give up way too much rushing yards and Logan will help alleviate that problem. drafting DLine in the second will also help out Indy in the long run.

24: Seattle Seahawks - Tyler Eifert (TE, Notre Dame)
- Russell Wilson could always use more weapons. they just need a TE they can rely on, Eifert is a big body and a good run blocker. he adds to Seattle's already explosive offense and I think becomes a go-to guy for Wilson in the RZ.

25: St. Louis Rams - Kenny Vacarro (S, Texas)
- with St. Louis second pick in the first round they address their safety woes. they already have Jenkins and Finnegan at corner so they're good there. Vacarro is the best safety in this draft class, and will get a lot of attention especially with Janoris Jenkins being shut down and Finnegan having a solid year. I think he adapts to the environment in STL and gets a lot of picks in a division that isn't known for it's quarterbacks.

26: Baltimore Ravens - Kevin Minter (ILB, LSU)
- Ray Lewis doesn't have many years left and may even retire after this season, if not he has at least 1 more year. Minter will be his replacement. Baltimore's defense as a whole is pretty old so they need to upgrade. Minter along with Upshaw is preparing for the future.

27: San Francisco 49ers - Matt Elam (S, Florida)
- Donte Whitner isn't very good, he's a hard hitting safety and that's about it. Matt Elam is great in coverage and solidifies the 49ers elite secondary.

28: Green Bay Packers - Barrett Jones (OG, Alabama)
- Green Bay needs serious help on their OLine. Rodgers is the most sacked QB in the league. Barrett Jones is very versatile and can play tackle, guard or center.

29: New England Patriots - Tavon Austin (WR, West Virginia)
- Wes Welker may not be a Patriot next year so NE might as well draft his replacement. Austin plays fairly similar to Welker. he can play the slot and he could also go down the field. Whatever Brady and Belichick decide to do with him will work because he has Brady throwing the ball to him.

30: Denver Broncos - Jesse Williams (NT, Alabama)
- Jesse Williams strikes me as a Denver pick. Williams is a mammoth of a man on the defensive line. he will help Denver's pass rush (Dumervil, Miller and Woodyard) generate sacks and also help stop the run. Williams was used on offense in Alabama as well, so if Peyton ever wants to run something on the goal line with him they could.

31: Houston Texans - Justin Hunter (WR, Tennessee)
- Houston needs an offensive playmaker that's not Arian Foster or Andre Johnson. Hunter is an explosive receiver who can make all the catches Andre can. Houston needs a receiver who can draw some of the heat off of Johnson and bring it towards him. Hunter/Johnson is a nasty duo in Houston.

32: Atlanta Falcons - Margus Hunt (DE, SMU0
- I saw this kid play against Fresno State the other day and all he did what cause mayhem. he was always around the ball making plays. Atlanta's DLine isn't that great to begin with. Abraham can still get the sacks but he isn't getting any younger, he could also mentor Hunt into being an elite DE. he isn't great in space but with the right work I see him molding into a fine young defensive end in the NFL.

Stop it. He is an ILB, and a great one at that, you do not put him at OLB in a 3-4.

This is quite possibly the worst move the Jets could make right now. Trading up!? For an ILB!? For an experimental shift to an OLB!? Have you seen our offense!?

lol but if Tanny remains GM it could definitely happen.

You said you traded a 3rd and 5th in 2013, and a 2nd in 2014. That leaves us with our initial 1st, and the 1 you traded for.

Sorry bro, after the pitiful display of offense this year, the line in particular. We should use higher picks on offense.

A couple of pass catcher wouldn't hurt either

No. we traded spots with the Browns. Jets were 7 overall, Browns are now 12. there was no other 1 round pick involved.

the only offense I would take in the first is offensive line, which if we can't get Te'o I would gladly take Warmack or Matthews. no quarterbacks interest me for the Jets, the receiver pool is deep and I don't think any running backs will go in the first.

I don't understand what you guys mean. what first round pick? our 2014 first? we still have it for the 2014 draft. we aren't trading it, only our 2nd round pick in 2014.

Because you didn't mention that we swapped 2013 firsts they took your trade to not include our 2013 first.
