Default New York Mets Offseason Thread

The Mets have new blue alternate uniforms for home and the road in 2013.

I am hoping they will merge with the Marlins. Metlins has a great ring to it. The merge will solve financial issues. The team will likely be able to have good attendance what with only having 41 games in New York and 40 in Miami. I am pleased Giancarlo Stanton will now be on my favorite team.

The Metlins signed Brad Bixler or Billy Bluehen or Bobby Brixtea or Dirk Diggler. The guy's name is something like that. So that guy. They signed him.

Even though you're banned. Here's to the Metlins. Jordany Valdespin in a Marlins cap.

Looks like the Mets will be trading Dickey very shortly.

This is a good move by Alderson if he nets the RH O/F we desperately need plus a prospect or two

Dickey has been a great story but prior to this year who would have given him 3 years at 34m? His season was immense but good teams trade ageing players for a positive return and grow...giving him a 3 year deal by extending him would not be a sure thing results wise..despite what many will say..

Oh and wtf happened to Cakes?

The mets are going to get two very good players back from the jays. Great trade imo.

Getting 2 blue chip prospects for Dickey is a good deal to me.

I appreciate what Dickey did for us while he was here.

Dickey and Blue Jays agree to a deal. Good bye RA! Go beat down those Yankees!

Can a mod please change this asinine thread name?

This is one of those proverbial "good for both teams" trades. The Mets got two top of the line prospects, and while Dickey was clearly a good guy, and accordingly popular, he was never a face of the franchise like Seaver was and Wright is.

No problem...

I think D'Arnuad could be a potential All Star Catcher. The guys is a stud...

The Mets front office just made a colossal mistake. You don't trade away the freaking Cy Young winner when he was going to be paid like a 3rd starter. Age is irrelevant as a knuckleballer, he's got 5-6 years left in the tank AT LEAST. Morons.

For once the Mets have a GM who has a plan , that plan is 2014 and beyond.

We will have to sit through some major ups and downs this year but for the first time in years our farm system has 4 or 5 Elite prospects that could take us to the next level..combine that with the loss of Santana and Bay off the payroll and in 12 months time we could be looking at a roster that will compete seriously for a division at the least

I guess it's understandable, but showing highlights while editing out the best player on the team (by far) is just a little cheesy.

That's sad, what is worse is that there were only 3 noteworthy things left on the team from the 2012 season

Looks like the Braves are gonna get Justin Upton. Justin Upton/ BJ Upton/ Jason Heyward. That's a nice outfield. The Mets outfield well I just have to
