Personally, I'm fine with the receiver corp right now. Jets have a young Holmes, without the asshat personality, in Kerley and a young Edwards, without the off-field problems, in Hill. Cap space and high draft picks are better used in other areas.

I think it has a lot to do with Sanchez's character (or lack of).
Keller, Kerley and Hill are easy-going guys with a good attitude... this works well with the kind of person Sanchez is. Also none of them has been in the league longer than him so it's not like they can intimidate him.
Holmes is a veteran diva with a SB ring... what kind of leadership can Sanchez exercitate on him? I'm sure mentally Holmes feels he is much superior as a player and as a leader...

To bring the best out of a guy like holmes you need a QB or a HC with huge balls... Peyton Manning or Jim Harbaugh come to mind... otherwise he is going to severly underperform.

PS I'm not saying vets can't work well with Sanchez... just that diva vets can't be held accountable neither by Sanchez nor Rex.

if anything, it has forced mark to look all over the field, because he doesnt have in his head a go to receiver for a given situation. the running game has finally started to pick up and it looks like the line and backs are getting on the same page. i really like sparanos misdirection play, it has been opening up huge holes lately. on top of that, we have gotten back dustin keller and our speedy stephen hill. i know that the other guys have stepped up, kerley has been great, but once we got back dustin keller this offense has started to look good.

i do however think that if holmes were to come back the offense would explode. we are really lacking the type of talent that holmes brings to an offense to get us over the edge. i think if we had holmes out there against the pats we could have won by 2 scores.

If we were to get rid of Holmes I would sign a veteran WR with solid hands and good route running skills that isn't going to be a bitch. A Cotchery type of player

So you mean sign Jerricho in the near future?

I agree on this. I think it's also because Holmes will run lazy routes because of it. If he was just malcontent but ran his routes, I think Sanchez could handle Holmes. But once he starts running lazy routes, not much to go from there. The times you do want to throw it, the timing is probably off or he isn't in the right spot.

Sanchez didn't feel comfortable ordering Holmes around.

Well I meant in the off season. If we let Holmes go I don't think we need to get a big name via trade or free agency. If Hill can improve his hands and beat press coverage he still may not a "#1" WR but he should be able to draw double teams with his speed.

Giants didn't want problems like Shockey on the team even AFTER Eli won 2 SBs !!!

I love Santonio.

Rex needs to bring him back as the 5th receiver and install him as the lead blocker on special teams.

I can't stand Santonio but at least this game against a real NFL defense (we didn't play one the last two weeks) can put an end to the nonsense that Sanchez is better off without him. Sanchez is a liability period, and better chemistry ain't getting the OL to block or our other WR's to catch the ball.
