First you try to speak for everyone who is a Jet fan, or at least for everyone who posts on this Jet's board.

"Just pointed out you're an embarrassment to your University."

Now some loose wing-nut castigater is going to attempt to speak for the entirety of the Gator Nation? WTF???

"Guessing that's not the first time you've heard that, though."

Guess all you like. But maybe you should just own up to your own biased judgements of me on a personal basis
and stop acting like you can speak for anyone but your own 'panties in a wad' self...

Logical fallacy. You need to view this stat as per capita to matter.

Clear thinking unavailable, you must have meant for it to matter to tiny arrogant private schools.

Since UF is only the 6th largest school in the nation, having the 'most' of anything does in fact matter.
If you fail to understand what i said there then im seriously concerned for your mental capacity.

Academic All-Americans need at least a 3.3 no wonder Vandy has so few. A 2.1 at Vandy is a 4.0 at UF.

Let's take a hypothetical situation: infant mortality rates comparing China and the United States. Let's say that 20 million babies die every year in China but only 19.9 million babies die every year in the U.S. By your logic, you would say that China has worse health conditions because more babies are dying in China than the U.S. However, taking into account the deaths as a percentage of the population (i.e. per capita), the actual answer is clearly the U.S. has worse health concerns.

It's really not that hard to understand... But what can you really expect from a Gator fan...

See, most people wouldn't consider jacking it to a shirtless picture of Tim Tebow important. Gross and creepy, but not important.

Just to clarify:

US News best colleges 2011 rates:
FSU # 101
UF # 58
Miami # 38

In fact if "da U" joined the SEC it would be behind only Vandy in terms of academics, and behind only Bama in football titles. No wonder why the ACC, Big 10, and Pac12 don't have champions, they comprise half of the top 50, whereas the SEC schools have Vandy (horrible at football) and then nothing until 58. Nice priorities!

But as we have seen, facts get in the way of Tebow fans logic.

Actually the thread should be called "an open letter to all tebow haters" as the haters outnumber the fans 10-1 , so much for tebow fans causing a disruption.

I like this part:

"So, broadly, Tebow has indeed exhibited “clutch” performance –– performing pretty ordinarily overall, but at a higher level when it matters most. Given our previous analysis of other quarterbacks who did this in their first year (including Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees), it’s unlikely that this is a sustainable course in the long run. However, it

should be encouraging for Tebow fans that his performance has been improving in absolute terms. Whether he exceeds the expectations of our model or not, you can expect him to win more games if he keeps playing at a higher level."

Except, his play didn't improve down the stretch. He was rather abysmal in three of his last four games. As a result, the Broncos had to back into the playoffs after dropping three in a row to close the season. This is an example of performance in the clutch? Losing badly when you need to win the most?

Slap

So do these numbers 8-5 as a starter with a playoff win after the previous starter was 6-22 WITH THE SAME TEAM

Certainly. Timmie was simply lulling the opposition into thinking he can't play the QB position. He was going to start being a real QB in the playoff game against the Belicheats but ... well ... y'know, the Donkeys' OL couldn't keep that #1 rated pass defense off Timmie ...

UF cut it's CompSci program to save $1.7 million while increasing the athletics budget by more than $2 million.

As an UF engineering grad I think this is shamefull, however I believe the athletic department at UF is self funded and tends to donate millions to the school, I don't think the academic budget is affected by the athletics budget at all.

Not good that they are cutting programs, but not as bad as the article makes it sound. The state cut academic funding so tey cut a dept, the athletic dept is funded by sports revenue and boosters and runs at a profit, the academic budget is a seperate issue(one of only 4-5 in the country to do so)

edit: while most college sports programs are partially funded by academic budgets, UF athletic dept has donated $61 million to UF academics over the last 21 year(info from gatorzone.com)
