Default If 5 playoff teams don't make it...

which 5 non-playoff teams will?

Since a previous thread noted that (in the last 15 years) at least 5 playoff teams from one year don't make it the next year,
it makes sense that 5 non-playoff teams one year make the playoffs the next.

Which 5 non-playoff teams last year will make the playoffs this year?

My five:

Jets (I can dream)
Raiders (injuries destroyed them last year)
Cowboys (Rob's defense looks legit)
Bears (underrated)
Panthers (Cam Newton)

Jets, Panthers, Bears, Bills( yeah shoot me), Eagles

Bears were going great last year until injuries. Andy Reid is VERY good with seasons after he has missed the playoffs so I assume it will be no different. The Jets well.... Panthers I think can get in with the Saints down. And the Bills could take the Bengals last spot,

Its much harder to pick the 5 teams that are getting in I think. Do the Chargers bounce back? Do the Chiefs have enough firepower if healthy to get in?

Wow...too much love for Buffalo for some reason. Do you guys really think "The Beard" can lead them to the playoffs in a division where they have to play Jets and Pats four times? Do you guys really think Buffalo will have a better record than the Ravens/Steelers?

I'm not even picking Buffalo but not because they have to play a .500 team that didn't make drastic improvements. Also, the North has the NFC East to contend with and neither team got significantly better. The Steelers lost a lot of leadership (Smith, Ward, Farrior) and the Ravens lost the Def MVP.

My teams are Kansas City, Tennessee, Chicago, Dallas, and Arizona.

I think the Steelers are going to break next year. They play the Broncos/Jets the first 2 weeks, then they have to deal with the NFC East with the Giants, Redskins, Eagles, Cowboys and they will also have to deal with the Ravens and Bengals twice.

I just think they go 9-7 and miss out.

If one of those teams wins the division and the other wins enough games to be in a wild card, there's an open wild card spot left for the Bills or any other team in the AFC.

You mean the Bills have to play the big, bad 8-8 Jets twice? Wow, that's going to be rough lol.

You mean the Bills that are 1-5 against Mark Sanchez and Rex Ryan ?

With their 1 win being at home, vs Sanchez as a rookie, during the worst game of his career ? And even though Mark threw 5 ints and a fumble, you still barely won it by a field goal in overtime.

Yeah no reason to worry about that at all, you guys obviously got the Jets #

Yes, because since the Bills have lost the last few against the Jets, that means they're not likely to ever win again.

Take it easy, guy. Focus on the topic and dont take everything so damn personally.

My point was with the Bills losing 4-5 games in their own division every year, the odds of them making the playoffs are slim.

The non 5 I see with the best chances

Jets, Chargers, Eagles, Cowboys, Bears.

I think the Panthers and Cardinals are the two most bizarre picks ive seen in this thread.

I see both of them having virtually no chance whatsoever.

The only Jets game I've ever seen...grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Anyway, trying to see if we can afford to come over for the last game of the regular season, before our deep run in the playoffs.

I do think Fitzpatrick has a lot of talent and can lead a playoff team, and the Ravens are going to win the north

pittsburgh could be a wildcard and so could cincinnati, other than those two i dont see anyone else except san diego/denver and maybe the jets, but to say that the patriots and jets are two teams the bills should regard as the best two in the east is going a little too far. yes it will be challenging, but i think this is the bills' best opportunity in recent years

^People like to talk shit on the NFC West without realizing that both the Seahawks and Cards were pretty good last year and both upgraded in the offseason

Only 8 teams scored less points than Arizona.

And half their wins came because seattle and the rams both suck.

I wouldn't count on them sweeping both the rams and seahawks again next year to boost their #s. Not to mention they're not getting a wildcard spot in the nfc with 9 wins. There's just too much talent in the nfc

They also played with a 5th round rookie qb for a large portion of the season, didn't have their high 2nd round RB at their disposal, and didn't have someone of Floyd's upside to go along with Fitz. I'd be surprised if the offense doesn't improve. I don't know that the NFC won't have a team get in with only 9 wins. They had one last year. And the point was that just one more win puts them in the hunt, not that I thought they'd necessarily only finish with 9 wins. And they beat the 49ers once, so they didn't just beat up on the lower level teams. I don't know if they'll get in or not but to call it bizarre is just...well, bizarre. I mean they actually beat a winning team, unlike the Jets.

The problem with the Seahawks and Cardinals is they dont have good QBs at all.

We saw what happened last year with the Jaguars and Chiefs when garbage QBs went up against our defense, they got abused hard. Kolb is horrible and Tavaris i nothing

I think they will give us good competition but im not expecting them to put much yards on us.

Not trying to be a dick but if you're going to talk about teams for the upcoming year you should at least know if they have signed any free agent QBs or not and who the projected starter will be.
