Default US Open @ Olympic

I got caught into watching it yesterday because of Tiger and I'm glad I did

Thru 2 rounds Tiger is tied with Furyk and Toms at -1. A heap of golfers still within striking distance.

Tiger and Furyk tee off at about 6 I believe in the final pairing.

I like wathcing the US Open because the top players routinely struggle there. It is fun watching professionals struggle like I do playing golf.

Also as stated above, Tiger is in so I will be watching especially on Sunday

Primetime for Tiger today...Tee time for him is 6:05 pm...

Golf's ratings get boosted 50-60% if Tiger is in contention...

What happened to Rory? Missed 4 out of the 5 past cuts at tournaments he has done...

Blame it on Caroline Wozniacki's wall socket.

Bad day for Tiger. Missed those good old days where he would close the deal in majors if he was on top after 2 days. Let's see what Sunday will bring

Very unfortunate for Tiger. Couldn't get the putter working.

Anyone from plus 3 / 4 could win if they hit a low clubhouse leader score

When is the golf and sports world going to realize that Tiger is now a JAG golfer. He is no better than the average golfer on the tour. So, besides being a despicable person, he is no longer a top flight pro golfer.

I will cheer the day when we see the results from a day of golf at a major and we don't need to hear who the leaders are and what Tiger shot. He is done. Put a fork in him and let's move on.

That's false. Tiger is still a good golfer. No, he doesn't finish at the top every time, but he's clearly a top 10 golfer right now.

He hasn't won a major recently, but you can say the same about a lot of other guys who are considered top golfers.

Lee Westwood and Luke Donald have never won a major, period, and they're considered top golfers.

People want to believe Tiger is done, but it's not true.

The point is his current level of play does not justify the attention he receives. He does not deserve the special attention he still receives. When you tune in ESPN after a round of a major, we do not need to know Tiger's score. It is ridiculous to see 4-5 leaders and then Tiger's mediocre score - e.g. PGA round 2 leaders - Kucher -6, Michelson -5, Furyk -5 Woods +2.

The stars are always overhyped. That's how it is.

Plus people are interested in Tiger. When Tiger is in the hunt, ratings are always higher. So the networks play it up.

You said he's no better than the average golfer, which is far from true. Many hate him, and will say things like that, and they'll tune in hoping he will fail.

What about seeing Mickelson's score at +16?

Bottom line, Tiger is the biggest star in golf. Everyone wants to know what he shoots in a round, except for you apparently. Tiger and Phil are the only players that have significant rooting interest in this country.

Who cares about his current level of play? That's like saying you wouldn't want to know Michael Jordan's stat line with the Wizards because he wasn't as good as he used to be.

Like it or not, Tiger is still the biggest story. If he's still winless 4 years from now, maybe that will change. But it'll probably take even more time than that.

Not what he was? Agreed.

Done? Nah. He's won 2 tournaments this year. And hes what 36\37? Lots of players win Majors past 40. Jacks last at 45. Mickelson looks good past 40.

I'm not going to say he'll dominate again but he can get a few more Majors, hopefully 5 more.

It's been 4 years since his last major. Maybe - maybe he wins one more. He is nothing special and does not deserve the unending attention he gets in every major.

Tiger is not done but he isn't the golfer he once was for sure. Can't predict how many majors he will win but he will win win the most PGA tour victories IMHO.

It is a pain to watch golf when he isn't in contention by the way.

Furyk choked like crazy down the stretch. McDowell will have a putt for a playoff. I already edited Webb Simpson's Wikipedia page to say he won, just to jinx him. Why not?
