....that you do not need an ELITE QB to win a SB!
I mean Eli? Dopey himself? C'mon. Seriously. In perspective it means Chad can win a SB if he has a team around him. Clemens is still tbd simply because of the state of the O-line which is also the reason Chad was running for his life the 1st half of the season. The Bottom line is that we really need to build the lines (both) before we can decide on the QB position. Defense wins Championships along with someone who can manage the game. |

Most rational people realize it but here are some posts I read where I just can't believe they think it's all Chad's fault. |

you're right for the most part
what upsets me about chad is that he is perhaps the smartest qb to ever play, the guy is like a coach on the field. team leader, fiery guy...I love 'em. He's just physically limited. It's sad. Some throws he cannot make. He's also completely immobile, which means the oline must be absolutely perfect. As soon as things start to collapse a little, he does the little fetal position. He can't scramble outside or fight off defenders, and when he does throw on the run, his velocity is comically bad. Would he ever spin out like eli did today? probably not, he's too much of a statue. |

not needing an elite QB doesn't equate to Chad Pennington being able win a Super Bowl.

You need whomever's behind center on throughout the playoffs to play some damn good football in order to win a SB. Just because Eli is not 'elite' does not mean he's on the same level of Pennington...

I agree that you don't need an Elite QB but you certainly need a better QB than Chad. Chad would not have been able to make those downfield throws, and would not have been able to make the sideline throw to Toomer with such zip and accuracy. Manning threw quite a few bullets in tight spaces last night that Chad could only dream of doing.
You don't need an Elite QB to win the superbowl, you just need a QB not named Chad Pennington... Chad sucks, but again, that's stating the obvious.
