Currently travelling back from London... be home at about quarter to twelve...I have a couple of beers in the fridge so ready for the first half before I turn in for the night. Then up for the cricket, which could be truely epic. Jets England double, come on boys, let's do this.
No need to get starters hurt in preseason, these guys know the routine, they will give it their all game one of regular season. Jets QBs still underestimating Anderson speed, 2nd Quarter Anderson had his receiver by 5 yards and Darnold under threw the pass, glad Anderson came up with it but those are guaranteed TD’s Jets will be leaving on the field if those throws are not put out for Anderson. If the oline holds up this season Darnold should make good progress with Bell, Montgomery in backfield and Anderson, Crowder, Q as his receivers.
That was a brutal game to watch last night, but we are 2 weeks away from the ones that count! Can't wait! I loved how a Pro's Pro like Brees, walked in, dominated our defense and weak CB's with ease, then called it a night as there was nothing else to prove. Gotta respect greatness like that. Sam and the offense were out of sync after that Montgomery fumble, but hard to know how they would have reacted in a real game. Plus no KO, Kalil, Winters, Bell on offense. Overall I was pleased with the offense this pre-season. The defense is hard to know. Need Trumaine Johnson back. Need someone to step up for Williamson. I think they will be good though.
well the running backs were part of 90% of the offensive plays ... all of the rookies we drafted cept for Q and Basham will be cut as they all stink
it was nice to see our kicker hit 2 big field goals and not missing any kicks had high hopes for Brandon Bryant but after 3 DUMB penalties doubt he makes the final 53 as for the backup QB'S Falk looks better than Siemian still annoyed that receivers run 11 yard routes on 3rd and 12
Wanted to string you up from the nearest high structure for writing that when Archer went! My god, Stokes was insanely good though.
It's simply magnificent sport, the ebbs and flows over four days... they said the last time a team was bowled out for less than 70 and went on to win was 138 years ago! Wow!
After first glance, a couple players that improved their chances of making the team: RB Cannon - made chunk plays and displayed his speed at RB, on top of solid Gunner work. I'd be surprised if he didn't make it. CB Brown - still not ready to play imo, but looks better than the other options, and had some good coverage plays with 2nd team. I could see the Jets wanting to develop his speed and vertical. LB Burgess - playing with 3rd team, but in limited opportunities he keeps making plays. No other LB including Hewitt stepped up. On Specials: K Bertolet - couple deep FG's including a 56 yarder doesn't hurt. No misses. LB McClellan - some nice ST stops, including a forced fumble on kickoff coverage. Could make it just on specials. PR Dortch - I always get nervous with rookie PR's, but he's securing the ball well and making guys miss. Not as good: Compton and Alex Lewis making me feel a little better about Guard depth, although our T depth not good. Eric Smith (the black one) should not be rostered. He's been terrible all preseason. Polite is pretty much invisible. I like Bryant's talent at S, but man way too many unnecessary penalties.
I realize that you're probably using hyperbole, but seriously doubt that will happen. To begin with, Edoga has supposedly looked good in practice and Blake Cashman has been getting a lot of reps with the #1s and has had a good camp. Blessuan Austin hasn't stepped on the field yet, and will supposedly be given the year to get healthy and learn. We didn't draft Basham, and I doubt that he will be cut. That only leaves Trevon Wesco and Jachai Polite. Wesco is a very good blocker, and I would be shocked if he were cut. Polite has potential, and it would be dumb to cut him when we need help at edge rusher. At this point, imo it would make zero sense to cut any of the rookies.
