Menace if I could not get a player for one of our guys I EASILY would have given picks.

I can see your point, however they have already traded away their second round pick, not sure if they have an extra one but if they didn’t have a second round pick, I’m not sure that just a 1st would have gotten a deal done especially since no one wants our players.

I’m hoping this team is learning to become a playoff team, but the bottom line is the PP has been a huge weakness, maybe it’s time to make a change from Gomez.

There obviously needs to be major changes on the offensive side of the team in general (and PP in particular) during the offseason - maybe coaching can help, but they need offensive talent. For now I'll be disappointed if they don't make the playoffs and win a series, but beyond that is all gravy from my point of view. I want to see them playing in Brooklyn again this season (as strange as that sounds).

It’s pretty much the truth in a nutshell, I just want them to make the playoffs and have fun with that accomplishment.

Menace I said it months ago = IF we do make it to the playoffs the "Powerless" Play will be our end. Look at today , we should have put them away we had two 5 on 3's but instead not only do we NOT score but we give the Flyers and that arena a reason to get energized. PS I don't think we have a 2nd rounder but a move needed to be made as we can see by our continued frustration with the power play and yes Gomez should be shit canned but someone still has to score

I would rather NOT make the playoffs and have a shot at Hughes then make it and then get spanked and be ousted in round 1. If the Isles can win a round then yes I sign up for it and would be happy but to get in only to get spanked ( see what the Rangers did to us when we had Hextall in net years ago ) that was zero fun and flat out sucked.Again IF this team has no playoff success I don't care who the GM is and who is coaching ---> Free Agents will NOT line up to come here but that remains to be seen.

Great win today but the PP will be the death of this team in the playoffs. Got 2 huge points today and that is what matters especially after the last 2 games which sucked. Hope the scoreboard goes our way tonight to make it a great day for the Isles. Three games to keep an eye on ......PIT at DAL, MINN at CAR, BUF at MONT. The Montreal game is for magic number purposes only as they are 8 back but the other two games are important to the Isles. GO STARS AND WILD.

I’m good with 2-0 games when we control the game like we did today.

I’m not saying I’m superstitious, but keep missing them, and don’t watch the playoffs.

6 games left with the Capitals at 96 points, Islanders at 95 points, and Penguins at 93 points.

    Looking at the schedules:
    Capitals:
    vs Carolina
    at Carolina
    at Tampa Bay
    at Florida
    vs Montreal
    vs New York Islanders

    Islanders:

    at Columbus
    at Winnipeg
    vs Buffalo
    vs Toronto
    at Florida
    at Washington

    Penguins:
    at New York Rangers
    vs Nashville
    vs Carolina
    at Detroit
    vs Detroit
    vs New York Rangers

The Penguins have the easiest schedule of the 3 by far, but the Caps and Isles are currently ahead of them and play each other the last game, so someone has to win that game. The Hurricanes are still in it, but I think it is fair to say one of these 3 teams will win the Metro and the other 2 will play each other Round 1.

Couldn’t watch, but glad to hear that the good guys won. The drumbeat of potential blown playoff opportunities seems to be lessening ...

Any win is a good win. Ladd went down I don't know how bad it is but it appeared to be his knee again. I wish they would bring up Dal Colle or Ho Sang. They have not clinched anything YET but hopefully they do soon.

Some good hockey on tonight. Isles vs Blue Jackets at 7:00 and on NBCSN at 7:00 the Canes vs Caps. I think the magic number for the Isles 5 since the Canadiens play the Blue Jackets on Thursday. Someone will lose a point or two and that will leave the loser maxing out at 99 points.

look like they will make the postseason and hopefully win a series. Not quite sure they have the horses (yet) to get much further. Makes for a real nice foundation going forward.

ACL tear, Lou is going to put him on Long Term IR, insurance will pay for his contract but it won’t count against the cap.

Another Garth Snow contract that will be coming off the books. Sorry about Ladd but it’s a business.
