He also has played C. If the Jets sign him, it will be to play C imo.

Winters is a league average guard. Harrison is a godawful center. We should sign Wisniewski to take Harrison's spot.

At this point he'd be our starting center. Not thrilled but he's competent center. Hopefully we draft someone that can play the position and start or another center becomes free in some way. That being said on March 19th if we sign him not that we'd be great but we'd be ok at center. At worse another good depth signing and maybe he pushes Winters like Compton.

He is almost a must signing. We need a guy like him as there is no guarantee a center will be there in round 3 or that a draft pick will be ready to start. You never want to go into a draft having to draft a certain position. Right now it feels like we have to draft an edge rusher, center and CB. I would expect some FA signings for all 3 positions. Wisniewski, unfortunstely is about the only viable center option left. He could be a one year bridge until we get a better option.

Its either this or Harrison at Center OR ( INSERT GIGLES and laugh track here ) we trust Mack to draft an O linemen / Center which is kinda like seeing Big foot or a unicorn = it rarely if ever happens

This would be a great depth move. If he is signed as the starter, that's fine because that would mean Harrison would slide to backup duties and he too would be a good backup.

For people wanting good starters on the oline...they just aren't out there right now. The draft is the best chance to improve the oline.

I wouldn’t call him a god awful center. Our offensive line was noticeably better when he started over Long. He’s a decent backup.

  10. My understanding is Wisniewski’s struggles have been more at guard than center.I renember him being pretty good w Oakland.

Im fine w letting him compete w Harrison and whoever else at Center.

I feel like if he's brought in, than he is at least going into camp as the starter.

Decent depth at the very least.

Our O-line was better with Harrison than Long because Harrison could snap straight. But Harrison, while a decent backup, is currently our starting center. And he's one of the worst starting centers in the league.

I know Long sucked playing with a broken hand, but he was OK b4 the injury. I think Buffalo just gave him a nice contract. Should we have just kept him and be done with it?

Long was like the proverbial cross-eyed seamstress who couldn't menstruate

Might as well sign Wisniewski because after a pass rusher in the 1st (and outside of possibly Eric McCoy in the 3rd) Macc's probably finished addressing center this year.

  15. Think their mightve been some hard feelings that Bowles/co kept him in the game when he clearly couldnt snap. Its not in a competitive OL to take himself out of the game. Then media fans all crucified him after the fact;Rightfully so.

Obviously Idiot Bowles/Bates no longer here but likely wanted a change of scenery to get out of dodge

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get a source address from a tweet. Does anybody know why sometimes you can right click and copy source address, but sometimes the option is not there? Is there an easy way to grab source addresses to link tweets? I'm a total computer dummy, sorry.

    RECENT TWEET FROM MANISH:

"Jets still in market for versatile offensive lineman who can play center. NYJ hosted Stefen Wisniewski yesterday, but aren't signing him now, per sources. Jets expressed interest in ex-Giants/Vikings OL Brett Jones last week. But no follow-up, I'm told"

S Wisniewski only problem at center was snapping it while in the shotgun.( I know he had that problem in Oakland). Steve Wisniewski was his uncle , and a great guard. This is his nephew.

    Great GIF!

I almost skipped over it, but check out the kid on the drums and imagine the soundtrack - all with a straight face!
