I mean if history is any indicator, yea.

My point is passing up on the generational talent hoping you find a guy in the 3rd round to replace him isn't a great strategy.

My point has always been: if you build the team through free agency, your team is destined for mediocrity.

Corollary to this point has been: SB championships are NEVER won in FA period.

Tell that to the Eagles (LeGarrette Blount, Alshon Jeffery, Chris Long, Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles) and the Broncos (Peyton Manning, Emmanuel Sanders, Evan Mathis, Owen Daniels).

    Never!

Either way, any good team that isn't the Patriots (and even them to some extent) are good because they are aggressive everywhere. They use their assets, they draft well and they spend their money. See: Rams, Saints, Chiefs, Bears, etc.

I'm wondering if all the reports saying Bell is out of shape & balooned up to 260lbs while sitting out , are bullshit to pay him back for what he did to the Steelers...in any event I'd make sure to do some SERIOUS investigating before signing him to a huge payday.
We don't need another Trumaine Johnson fiasco.

That’s the big question isn’t it. Will he be the same guy he was before the holdout.

Being out of work for a month or 2 does something to a person. I’m not sure what the total time out for Bell would be, but to think it won’t impact his play on the field would be insane. People like to throw around Madden when discussing trades, but the sams thing applies here. He won’t automatically be a 95 overall for whatever team he suits up for next.

The lol is for the #GreenAndWhite he really loves....cash money. The Jets are just a means to the ends. He'd play in the AAF if they paid him enough money.

Manish is really trying to fuck things up for the Jets with Bell lately. Between the bullshit "here's what people REALLY think" and the "they aren't going to break the bank" and now the "some people are concerned he's overweight"... fuck this guy.

I could see Bell getting out of shape. It’s a concern for sure. He was too big in college. He lost weight for the Steelers and became who he is.

A year off though for a guy with weight issues in the past? A guy who has had “motivation issues” to say the least in the past?

Nothing wrong with the Jets doing their homework here.

Getting Bell isn't even a thought unless they substantially upgrade the O line. I would much prefer they get stud OL who may be here for a while before looking at any FA RB. Once the OL is secure and the dust settles on other FA then look at RB and go with what fits their remaining budget.

Why get a fairly high mileage Ferrari for a rock filled dirt road? The vehicle has to fit the track and right now the Jets OL is a worn out goat path.

It's not Mac I'm worried about. It's Bell looking at it and saying "oh yea??"

New page, gotta get this out there:

You can sign Bell and the best OL on the market and still have tons of money left over.

Also what stud OL is out there that's going to be here for a while? The two best guys on the market are 30 or over and neither are studs per-say.

Bell won't give a shit about a beat writer that he'll more than likely get into it with anyhow if he signs here.
