Do we look? If anything, he successfully draft a FQB, a stud WR [that was traded away] AND an edge rusher [also traded away] on top of a very good running back. [Again, traded away.] So the question: what say you?
Is he? Outside of nailing the 2014 and getting cooper the rest of his drafts range from below average to abysmal.
In six drafts, his best picks were Latavius Murray, Khalil Mack, Derek Carr, and Amari Cooper. In three drafts, Mac's best picks were Leonard Williams and Jamal Adams. So I can see what you're saying, McKenzie wasn't great outside of 2014. Depending how Darnold pans out, Mac may or may not go down as better than McKenzie, but for now McKenzie gets the edge. Regardless, after looking more into McKenzie's draft record, I'm less of a fan of him.
I was initially more interested as well, but when I looked over his record I saw the same problems as Mack. Good with first rounders andnfar too many reaches in the second and third.
he got screwed by Gruden. He has an eye for talent but the Davis' kids are even bigger dumbasses than their father and let Gruden ruin that team
No thank you. I don't want to see my football team bring in a GM from a organization that's had one winning season since 2003.
Just a big picture look of the organization the Jets would be hiring their next GM from if they were to consider Mckenzie. One winning season out of seven still stinks. Paying Carr $25 million per year stinks. Pass.
Supposedly, the Raiders top 5 candidates to replace McKenzie are: 1. Bruce Allen, President of the Redskins (Gruden and he worked together before and are friends) 2. Brian Heimerdinger (Our Director of Personnel) 3. Shaun Herock (their interim GM, and his father is an advisor to Mark Davis) 4. Mark Dominik (worked with Gruden in Tampa Bay) 5. Jimmy Raye Would anyone have any interest in any of those 5 for the Jets if Mac was fired?
None of these guys excites me. My top 2 choices are Eliot Wolf and former Broncos GM Brian Xanders, who got pushed out when Elway was in charge.
Lol McKenzie's the best of the bunch. But the Raiders aren't looking for a good GM, they want a Gruden lapdog.
Macc ain't going anywhere... Per the NFL Network Mccarthy is the favorite to be the next Jets head coach.
PFT is reporting that the Dolphins have hired him. I'm guessing now we know who the favorites to land Carr are when the Raiders decide to trade or cut him.
I still can't believe the Raiders hired Mike Mayock as it's GM. I hear they are trying to hire Erin Andrews as Dir of Player Personnel and Heath Evans as SR VP of Compliance.
